Quindi, sotto a chi tocca: l’occasione è irripetibile!

Ask Laura Olin: the secrets behind Obama's social strategy revealed by who managed his campaign

One of the keys of Obama's electoral success was using resources in a targeted manner, using them only to persude those voters that realistically could be inclined to vote for him in the light of what was revealed by an accurate profilation. This was possible thanks to the introduction of advanced techniques of Big Data analytics for the first time in a campaign.

Another reason was certainly having using better and brought to a superior level social media in comparison with Romney, who exploited them with mixed results. For example, Romney used the potential of big data analytics only in occasion of the elections, while Obama had already used them for years even to plan his trips abroad based on how the financial markets were doing, and has even introduced big data analytics predictives to better understand the vote intentions of Americans and to prevent terroristic attacks.

The management of social media has been given to a 4 people team, guided by the 31 year old Laura Olin, who has accepted to answer Intervistato.com's questions, who is currently collecting them on social media with this post and this hashtag:

Just one recommendation: given the profile of the person we're interviewing, the questions shouldn't be political, but technical, regarding communication and social media. Here are my questions. What are yours?

"In Obama's digital team you decided autonomously what was relevant and what wasn't among what was happening or was about to. Do you think that in the editorial team of a digital newspaper this freedom of decision and action is fundamental?"

"How were the interactions among the team members dedicated to real-time managament and those dedicated to analysis occur?"

"If you were the social media manager of an important company, what kind of endorsment and internal organization would you expect, in order to be able to talk about social enterprise?"

"Having potential access to predictive big data analytics services such as Recorded Future and Trapwire, is there any possibility these techniques become of common use for the Obama administration, for example to monitor, understand and satisfy the sentiment and the American citizens' needs in a more accurate and rapid way?"
