A few days ago we interviewed Andrea Sarubbi, journalist and ex MP for the Democratic Party.

First of all we asked whether we will ever see Italian politicians make endorsements among each other instead of always being against each other: according to Andrea there are already such moments of convergence, occasions in which they do get to a shared reasoning, but most of all there are endorsements to politicians whose views their share. There are obviously often some diversions in 140 characters, mostly because they do force you to take a strong position, giving the idea of a fight when most times it's not the case.

Of course we asked how "opencamera" was born, the initiative Andrea launched during the previous Parliament: according to him, when someone is a journalist, then he is always a journalist, so he strongly felt the need to share what was going on inside the Parliament. At the beginning he used hashtags related to the topic he was writing about, but the he understood that it was necessary to unify it all under the same hashtag, which was then opencamera. Only later did he discover that Opencamera was the name of an initiative the Radicals had launched years prior, which regarded the transparency of the data of the Chamber. So from the same desire for transparency, he unknowingly chose the same name.

Many things have changed since the launch: people who would never have the possibility to know what happened inside the Parliament became interested in politics, and discovered that it's something they can relate to and find quite interesting.

On the other side, the MP start to feel the responsibility for their own doings, and realizing that what they are doing is very important for the entire country: the initiative is thus shared across political views, and makes everyone responsible, becoming a good practice that makes voters curious and manages to reach a much higher number of people.

We asked Andrea what is missing in Italy in order to have a true participative democracy: first of all, in his opinion, there are no recognized political parties. Currently parties can do whatever they want, because the Constitution does not have any kind of limitations. Secondly there should be the possibility to do it all online, not only in person: in fact, when you widen the participation, sympathizers will vote along with activists, and so you have the possibility to know what the public wants more specifically.

Andrea believes that Italian politics uses social media as a megaphone: everyone opens a Twitter account during an elections campaign, and the close it as easily as they opened it when the elections are done. They use it as a press office, and they don't understand that the fundamental principle of social media is the bidirectionality between those speaking and those who answer, and they use them as means of propaganda when it shouldn't be like that. The only exception to the rule is Beppe Grillo, who adopts a similar behavior, but has a very wide following, in spite of the fact that the line is dictated from above and the comments of readers don't have any influence in changing it.

We talked about the future of the Democratic Party, about Matteo Renzi, immigration, civil rights, and much, much more: I invite you to view the full interview, much richer in details than my brief synthesis.

From the PD to a new Left wing?

I wrote it in an article a few weeks ago: the PD, sooner or later, had to come to terms with its confused, indefinite, sometimes irritating identity. And it happened. But in the worst of ways: during the votation for the President of the Republic. And to kill the party wasn't just the Renzi area, but also the Bersani area.

But something happened that was even worse than the eternal clash between ex demochristians and ex communists: in an extremely difficult socio-economical-democratical momento for the country, the PD has divided itself into various currents - all fighting each other - which, closed in the dark rooms of the palace, have "burnt" Marini and betrayed Prodi - the founder of the PD, its most authoritative exponent - just to avoid letting the opposite side win. All of this, regardless of the problems of the country, regardless of the desires of the voters - who invoked the election of Stefano Rodotà - and even regardless of the loyal ally, that SEL who has been prepared a trap in the attempt to make it appear as the traitor of Prodi, in the attempt to cover up the mistakes.

And it won't be enough to change Bersani with Renzi, or change Finocchiaro with Richetti: what makes the PD inadequate and ready to explode at any time is - I repeat - its confused nature, that slows down its political action, its proposing to the public opinion of programs that can be clearly identified in a conservative or progressist wing.

In the meanwhile SEL has - obviously - shut down the relationships with this PD, more interested in surviving than making itself useful to solve Italy's problems. And Vendola, after saying no to Napolitano and voting Rodotà, has announced a future Rome assembly for the 8th of May, in which to start building a path for a "large, popular, governamental left wing". "Not a new rainbow left", Vendola has made it clear.

I don't know what exactly will be discussed in that meeting, but I am certain of one thing: we need a left without a "center" in front of it, and that doesn't have testimony minorities that are deadly for every political ambition. A secular, modern left wing, antiliberist and ecologist, that can put human rights at the top of its political programs. We need a left that can survive its leaders because the left wing is something much bigger and more noble than the biographies of 2 - 3 political leaders and their parties: the left is the brave voice of despair that is channeled in a fascinating human, and thus political experience. The left is, and must be, property of the people.

The left wing, as I wrote a few weeks ago, has the triple responsibility the right wing has: beyond leading the present, it must immagine and build the future. And it must realize that its defeat is the one of the weakest parts of the population. It must understand that it is a crime to leave them at the hand of the conservative perversions of the right. Because where the left is missing, equality, respect of human rights and respect for the planet we live on lack as well.

We need courage. We need to analyze our consciences. We need to look at ourselves in the mirror: but not only our political leaders: we, simple activists must do the same. And start by asking for honesty, competence and courage. Courage to defend the left wing identity, of course, but also not being afraid of indicating horizons that go beyond the national borders, because the future of our civilization is more and more decided outside of Italy. And I don't only indicate a probable adesion to the European Socialist Party on behalf of SEL or the next political party we'll have, but also an important move in European politics, through political actions that see the environment, jobs and human rights as protagonists in the game. Because Europe was born and was prospered that way, and it's dying because it has forgotten those values.

Left wing, go out in the light of the sun. Don't be afraid of your noble identity or of your people. Your loving assemblies are passional hugs to life and democracy. The future is yours.

Staremo a vedere.

And now it's the young people's fault if the PD has sunk

Yesterday in an interview at SkyTG24 Rosy Bindi, among other things, said that the fault, or part of it, in the drammatic and grotesque matters of the PD in the Quirinale affair is of the young people elected in the PD with the primaries wanted by Bersani.

They are accused of being unexperienced and unaware of their institutional role. She also said that many, victims of their inexperience have been guided by a cynical part of the old guard. So part of them would be among the traitors. Bindi did not want those parlamentaries, it is clear, and she remarks it as she stresses Bersani's responsabilities in wanting to go along with that line. There's a need for competent, prepared people who have been inside the party, she said. So work hard, and then we'll talk about your presence on a seat. The other part of guilt is of the resentful currents and the internal fights of the PD.

So what I asked myself was: and before the parlamentaries? Who was sitting at the desks? Because the degenerative state the PD is in has been going on for years. And those who had illuded themselves that with the primaries the worst was done, or erased, was only illuded. And the first to illude themselves were they, they people of the PD.

Now, we can accept the inexperience of the young neoelected. As we can accept that Marini and Prodi (the father of the PD) didn't deserve the public humiliation with reunited chambers in national live television. But giving the young people of the PD 50% of the guilt for the failure of the strategy seems a bit too much. I repeat, and before?

So in his words the ex president of the PD should find other alibies talking of a party that didn't manage, in years, to mix up in a compact manner the different components around a shared line to express with conviction at the moment of truth, and that carries along, in its veins, the poisons of fights that are even precedent to its formation.

What will be of the PD, I do not know. The internal elections campaign has already started, waiting for the congress. We'll see. What I do know is that we need a party that will stop looking for alibies and give guilts and starts on the path they talk about so much.

The ugly, the good and the bad of a crazy week

What happened and what didn't happen seems difficult to synthetize. Looking at things with a certain detachment, though, maybe we can get a few suggestions.

It's easy to believe the "left wing is masochist" cliches. If for the red-yellow fans "Roma mustn't be discussed, it must be loved", for those who are truly from the left wing, I'd say the healthy lesson to emerge is "The Left, if you love it, then you discuss it". At least in order to mark the differences with who, more and more numerous, takes politics for a soccer field.

A concept we fought Berlusconi for years on, and that - with Grillo as an accomplice - is more and more present.

During these days we've read and heard people like Pippo Civati and Giuditta Pini suffer, and also other young good people, because they're too smart not to understand in what sort of cul-de-sac the PD has gotten into, because of leaders who supposedly cannot "hear" the people: they hear it very well, shouting that their time is done, and thus trying to make the Temple collapse. And succeeding in doing so.

Unfortunately or not, the center left wing isn't a monolitical creature, created into the likeliness of a leader, such as PD and M5S, so it's easier for it to break instead of changing (while the other leaderistical forces will simply dissolve when their leader is gone).

But at this point it could be good, for a left wing that doesn't have a home anymore, to decide to build a new one. The healthy arms are there, a mason could be there (Barca?), so why not start a project where the Dalemians aren't a problem because they aren't called to participate into the matter in the first place?

In the disaster of the hundreds of wasted occasions, this might be the last one not to miss. Because, what is there to lose, for those who is truly healthy and of the left wing?

Politics has changed, but it hasn't changed in the sense Grillo sees it, because it tends to divide the world in black and white, and that's the easiest thing to do when you try to raise consent. Unfortunately what Grillo doesn't understand is that there are people who will never trust him, and that has nothing to do with honesty, or privileges: simply, there are people who say no to the old politics of power at all costs, but who can't digest a politics that seems new, but when you look at it from a short distance, it has nothing new to it. This past week proves that.

Let's look at another aspect: Rodotà, great and honorable choice, truly a left wing man, would have been elected by the people. Many among the good arms I talked about earlier have voted for him during the first rounds. Personally I hoped the PD would candidate Rodotà at least two months ago, since his name was around well before the Quirinarie. The problem is that the dynamic and the stubborness with which his name was proposed, even when it was obvious he would never have the necessary numbers, is what we have nearer to Presidentialism in Italy, that Presidentialism that Berlusconi has always wanted and to which we must not succumb.

The same Rodotà, although "despised" by the power game of the rotten PD leaders, right after the election of Napolitano has hastened to say that "whatever the Parliament decides is democracy". His words, because he is way too smart to get washed down by populism. He's too left wing of a man for that.

The hour of PD: from diamonds nothing is born, from shit the flowers are born

For those who still had doubts about it, let me make it clear: the PD has imploded.

All the fire created during the primary elections, the willingness to participate and discuss democratically the program and the party organization, have disappeared in thin air. The general enthusiasm has left space to a dull campaign, the bitterness of voters for the insuccess of national elections, the disappointment for the unconvincing choices of the last two months, the perplexity and the rage due to the candidacy of Franco Marini in view of a government together with the PDL, not giving honor to a great politician such as Romano Prodi and the resignment of a secretary who couldn't keep his group together in such a delicate moment.

This is the story of the last few months. In a few weeks, the positive memories that collected the desire for change of the new generations have disappeared along with the desire to give the country that dignity  in the sentiment of redemnption of millions of citizens.

The solutions were there, always available. And yet they have been put aside leaving space to huge errors that risk to make the center left disappear.

Many call it the night of long knives. And yet, the one who's paying for it is only Pierluigi Bersani. The 101 traitors (so the ex secretary calls them) will sit in those chambers representing their own glory.

The words of Giuseppe Civati and Matteo Orfini are heavy as stones. The accusation to the old leadership doesn't remain hidden but is clearly launched on the national TGs during the evening and is full of rage and the awareness of being unable to avoid personal interest get the best of the PD and the whole of Italy.

What will happen now?

The election of the President of the Republic might still be far away, but the new elements of the PD (not anagraphically, of course) already today have a huge responsibility: continuing that reformist and innovative project, son of the primaries and a new way of doing politics.

The PD has imploded, it's true. But this doesn't mean that everything can't be transformed in an opportunity to leave the Second Republic behind and the rage towards the dirty politics it created.

From diamonds nothing is born. From manure, flowers are born.

Bersani, Marini, and that missed step backwards between PD and Quirinale

Honestly, a few weeks ago I would have expected the step backwards from Bersani. Not because I don't like him, I voted for him and sustained him. And I'm not going to take that back. As I don't take back my idea of Renzi as unfit to lead the PD, at least for now. But there's a moment when in order to be honest with those who voted for you, you have to put an end to it.

You have to go back and open a debate. Giving the party (to the men, women and young people) the decision of the path to choose. Bersani tried to resist, to pursue what he believed was the right track (and we must aknowledge that), but maybe too much and for too long.

He wanted to keep the wheel steady, even though - as it was predictable - if you go towards a storm the risks are two: either mutiny, with the intent of taking control and going away from it (and we've had a taste of that with the first elections of the President), or sinking, and if the boat goes down, we all go down with it.

But on the boat there are also crew and passengers. Which are the exponents of the party and its voters. You can't get away from that.

The missed step backwards when he was still on time, has widened the dissent already present in the party itself, but during the last few hours it is also engaging a large part of it which was still rooting for Bersani until just a few weeks ago.

I wrote about it yesterday here on Intervistato.com: the fights, the clashes inside the party, the stubborness of some elements to want to go ahead with their ideas regardless of the consequences - and the base? - is ending up confusing the voters. Personally I find myself in a situation of utter incapacity to decipher the direction the PD and its components want to give the party in the following days, weeks, and it scares me.

Today Franco Marini who after the vote didn't want to step back has reminded me of a recent story, a stubborness that in these weeks has disturbed me and has found me contrary: the one of Bersani. And that's the reason of Marini's defeat, as a shared candidate, in the first call for the election of the President. But it is also the defeat of the Bersani strategy for the PD.

Let's hope the next hours will bring counsel.

Persa ormai altrove, in pensieri propri e totalmente svincolati dalle logiche famigliari. Separati in casa.

Forse troppo e troppo a lungo.

Separated at home, the PD: an ending story?

The kids of separated or divorced parents knows, it's never simple. The confusion and the tension you're constantly exposed to in the phase preceding the division in some cases, especially on younger children, often risks to leave the mark.

It starts out with small tensions, barely perceptible disagreements. It goes on with futile fights, but even more violent on decisions, not always fundamental. It goes on until one of the two doesn't give in and accepts the wishes of the other. Unless, with a push of pride, they take it all back and goes to the first decision raising the barricade once again.

Let's take the summer holidays: a few months before the summer the debate begins. Seaside or mountains, seaside, mountain, then the compromise: the countryside. The tension goes down, until the moment one of the two goes back to their position. So it goes on until the summer, when it's too late and all places in the mountains, the seaside and even in the countryside are finished. So it ends that they all remain in the city, in the same house, looking at eachother filled with resentment. Who is the loser? Just ask the kids who are forced to stay in the summer heat in the city.

From fights, from the bad conflict, you get to the crucial shift. The one where the two parents both live in the same huse but aren't there with their heads. It's lost somewhere else, in their own thoughts and totally unbound from familiar logics. Separated at home. They don't follow those goals that are necessary to bring the family outside of the crisis, but they follow their own, personal line.

It's the moment when the kids don't understand anything anymore. They don't know whether they can count on the integrity of the family, they don't know whether they have a family anymore, not even which of the two contendents to look at. Who's right? Who's wrong? In the interest of whom? In the end the kids end up closing themselves and getting away from the voices of both.

So there, during the last weeks as a PD voter I've felt like that kid, confused in assisting at the continuous and grave fights inside the party. A party that can't agree on mountain or seaside, a party separated at home, and which risks to find everywhere fully booked. And the temptation of getting away from it all is really strong.

From the elections to the missed national reconciliation

After the elections some of my friends, who think I'm more prepared on the matter (perhaps because of my passion for this topic, I can't explain it any other way), have written to me asking one simple question: and now?

And now, if I must be honest with myself and who is reading, I don't know. I really don't know. During these weeks I've read and heard everything and the opposite of everything. An information overload, shot from one side and from the other, which have ended creating even more confusion in my head.

I look around and read everyone against everyone, a situation that can't avoid reminding me the times when the leftwing accused harshly the Berlusconian voter, guilty of contributing in bringing Italy on the brink of disaster because of a vote sold to the number one enemy of the left. While from the rightwing, a constant flow of "idiots" and "communists" arrived.

Today there's the hunt of the Grillo boy, whose faults are substantially similar in the thesis of those who imputed them once to the voters of the Chevalier. On the other side, the Grillo voters who offend the whole "chaste", proud of the result of the elections (but which, we must remind you, isn't representative of the majority of the country).

In the middle there was, and there is today, the sinking boot. Forgotten in a corner by the battle among parties, movements, and fanboys.

A couple of years ago I used to say that after Berlusconi's disappearance from the political scene, it would have been neccessary to start a civil debate for a national reconciliation. It sounds big, but the sense of it was quite simple: try to get over a time of ideological divisions. Get out of that ugly phenomenon that is blindly supporting something without thinking, that doesn't allow to rationalize and find a common sense of belonging, a shared and common road.

Which doesn't mean not to choose the lines of thought that are near to our beliefs (for example I could never identiy in the programs and values of the right, and viceversa), but try to focalize attentino on the true, everyday problems, and make pressure together on parties and movements, hence in charge of this task, giving them responsibility.

#Elezioni2013: in direzione ostinata e contraria

Anzi, a dirla tutta, negli ultimi mesi.

In opposite and obstinate direction

I was absolutely unprepared to a scenario like this one (never underestimate Murphy's law!), I had a totally different article in mind, but given the results, I'll try to avoid yet another analysis of numbers and possible allegiances.

A thousand thoughts have gone through my head during the last 24 hours. Actually the last few months, to be honest.

I've always been affectionate to politics tout court, I've always thought I live in a country which is too small for me: social inequality, lack of civil rights, arrogance and corruption. And yet, during each elections campaign, which for me has been a continuum and not just a precise moment of the year, that thought has always given me the strength to fight for ideas and programs.

Every time I took out from the drawer my elections card, I've always felt part of something, engine of change. However the day after the vote has never reflected the expectations of the eve. During the following hours, anger and bitterness fused together, a little for the doubt for not having done enough, a little for the awareness that I've always been a part of the minority.

Of one thing I am certain: there was no "hope" among my feelings. Thirtyfive months have passed since I've stopped using that word: it happened right after a deep intervention aired by Rai Per Una Notte by Mario Monicelli, artist and a man I owe all of my esteem to. Hope, or the false hope of these elections was closed inside the promises of giving back the IMU, the populist shouts, the idea that we could reach goals by not respecting the law and disrespecting democracy, without paying any consequences.

Maybe it's because of this false hope, of the scarce interest in unveiling it, that the elections result constrains Italy to prepare to face a situation of instability, in the hands of a fractioned Parliament and hardly open to compromise for the good of the country.

We could have done more, we could have been different, we could have received more young people, we could have been more expert, more communicate, avoid putting ourselves on the defensive or maybe we could give up the idea of a solid base in the name of a charismatic leader capable of moving the masses more.

We could have been anything: but probably nothing would have convinced the majority of Italians of the importance of competence and responsibility towards the country, of the value of honesty in elections campaign and in life in general, of the beauty of diversity of people, but of the equalness of their rights.

Honestly, I can't be sorry towards these elections: I've seen women revolt against the daily violence suffered on the hands of their lovers, old people enthusiastic for participating in the politic life for the good of their grandchildren, small entrepreneurs sustained by their fellow town citizens in their fight against mafia, homosexuals confiding in the realization of a future with their partner guaranteed by rights that are now recognized in the majority of western democracies, young people who feel Italian willing to be one day received with more affection within our country without being - wrongly - called immigrants.

And if politics means administration of the city (or the country, in this case) for the good of everyone, it doesn't matter how many elections campaigns I will lose, how much anger I will accumulate, how many political disappointments I'll have, how many times I'll have to remain in minority: I won't compromise on these topics only because the majority of citizens still isn't ready to a change, to this small revolution.

For this reason, in anticipation of your change and waiting for new elections (which unfortunately will happen soon enough), today I will wear a t-shirt which I care particularly about, showing where I direct my eyes compared to your ideas: in obstinate and opposite direction.

10minuticon Giuditta Pini @piccolapini

10minuteswith Giuditta Pini

We interviewed Giuditta Pini, candidate at the Parlaiment for the Democratic Party, and member of the Young Democrats.

First of all we asked Giuditta how she started her political activity: shows the candidates to elections that have a Twitter account: from the application interface it is possible to send tweets to any candidate and see some aspects of their political position, such as the party they belong to.

We asked what the current situation regarding open data and civic hacking is in Italy: it is surely a very stimulating situation, because there haven't been any important results at a national level, which leaves space to doing much better. At the same time no datasets that are truly useful have been released, and often they're not even updated.

The data is released by the administrations in a easily readable format: the task of the civi hacker is to take the data and feed it to the machines, or write programs that use that data. Unfortunately both datasets and civic hackers are lacking, even though inside Spaghetti Open Data and Open Coesione there are many people who are doing their best to make a difference.

The ideal situation as for the transparency of the PA and the availability of open data would be to have regularly updated data, based on the frequency with which the data is collected: of course this requires a lot of work, and a place where you can easily find them and - why not - more colleagues to work with in order to get useful information out of them.

Alessio believes there is a tendency to say that data has a sense: data doesn't have any sense by itself, you need to read it and give an interpretation. Civic hackers are people who do a great fantasy work in order to understand how to use raw data, to make apps or get insights. There are already quite a few good examples, such as the app that gives an alert whenever you enter high risk neighborhoods, or the app that allows citizens to report problems with streets or urban decor.

In Italy there is also another problem, which is the randomness of data: they are released under several formats or subformats, which makes it difficult to normalize it. It becomes a huge task for the civic hacker, which is why it would be a great idea to introduce some laws regarding open data: for example, the PA should have to release a minimum number of datasets in a given format, and keep them updated, so that apps can be built upon them. Currently none of this has any legislation.

Open data represent an important tool of democracy and direct control, as Alberto Cottica has stated: getting in touch with political representatives, having in depth insights on the efficiency of the PA, the safety of the neighborhood, and even the efficiency of ambulances.

Of course, I invite you to view the full interview, much richer than my brief synthesis.

The answers (or not) of Matteo Renzi, Nichi Vendola and Pierluigi Bersani to the readers' questions

During these last few weeks we carried on an activity that, in some ways, can be described as an attempt to participate to public life in a completely new way.

We collected and published our readers' questions for Matteo Renzi, Nichi Vendola and Pierluigi Bersani. Against all the odds, the participation has been huge, leading to gather 50 questions for Matteo Renzi, who was the first.

Matteo Renzi

As we described in detail in the post "The non answer of Matteo Renzi to our readers' questions", the questions have remained without an answer. We knew that 50 questions are a lot, and answering during the campaign would have been difficult, but when the staff answered saying that they were already working on it, and Matteo Renzi himself promised publicly that they would give us everything in one day, we were very pleasantly surprised.

The surprise wouldn't last for long, since the promises haven't been kept, they simply suggested to go see the website. After 15 days of promises and waiting, we expected - with reason - something more, because the program doesn't really answer the questions, and in the cases it does, it's only marginal.

So, to sum it up, when it comes to Matteo Renzi, we're still waiting for an answer, as he promised, to the 50 questions.

Nichi Vendola

On November the 21st we published the questions collected for the Apulia Governor Nichi Vendola, whose staff asked us for the transcript in order to make it easier for him to answer. So after two days, they sent us the answers you can find above. 40 answers for 40 questions from social networks, a proof of great sensibility toward the topics related to new technologies and new possibilities of participation to public life.

Pierluigi Bersani

On November the 28th we published the questions for the current secretary of PD, Pierluigi Bersani. The answers arrived in about two days, you can read them above.

Of course, the goal aren't the primaries of center-left wing, but the political elections. This opportunity to ask questions to politicians in a completely new way, using daily use tools, which Italian politics is just starting to use now, has been greeted with enthusiasm by those who participated.

There's no doubt on the fact that we can get better at it, but we do need to think about a few things: it is obvious that there's a desire to do something new and different regarding democratic participation to public life, and this desire should find solution in some kind of format or new opportunity, that can allow a real participation to public life thanks to the new tools citizens have.

Citizens who live the web and use it every day, and whose vote has an importance.

Pierluigi Bersani's answers to the readers' 40 questions

The current secretary of PD Pierluigi Bersani, after two days of their publication, answered the 40 questions from our readers. All questions have been collected on social media, in particular Facebook and Twitter: you can find all the answers above.

But let's proceed with order.
After publishing the questions for Matteo Renzi and Nichi Vendola, it was only natural to do the same for Pierluigi Bersani, using the hashtags #intervistatu #Bersani on Twitter and a collecting post on Facebook.

On November the 28th the post with the 40 questions went online, and the same day we sent the transcript to the staff, who sent it back with the answers yesterday night.

The topics are numerous, from the reason why primary elections had to be paid for by voters, to a law on conflict of interests, the situation of Italian healthcare, ILVA and article 194, just to name a few. Without a doubt, the rapid answer of the secretary is a sign of a new type of opening to debate and participation to public life.

E poi ex Socialisti, come Linda Lanzillotta (La Margherita --> PD), Enrico Boselli (SDI --> PS)
E ancora ex Socialdemocratici, ex Liberali, ex Verdi.
Mancano all'appello solo i due Leocorni, dicono.

A Rutelli vane for every roof

Rutelli's API announces the probable candidation of Tabacci to the primaries of the left wing. Another jump into the abyss for Rutelli? This time he seems to be willing to keep his feet in two shoes. The Democratic Party, obviously, is silent and probably approves.

The news that nobody expected at this point, is that Rutelli put himself downwind.

Explorative mandate to Tabacci to "verify the conditions of a candidature too primaries" of the left wing.

The other news that nobody expected is that the center left, and particularly the PD, didn't say anything in contrary. Something like: "Hey Rutelli, hadn't you cut yourself out of the center left?"

So, two events that were definitely not surprising, that don't make more sense because of it.

So he's abandoning the Third Pole?

Never, if it is true that Rutelli has expressed satisfaction and the need to "reinforce the central area" of the center-left wing: "Api doesn't renegate the Third Pole, it reinforces its project. We don't have to abandon the space conquered with that project, but reinforce it."

On the other hand the Rutellian party API has a definitely malleable structure, at least by judging the provenience of the politicians present. Almost all of the with a story filled of jumps from one party to the other.

A party for all seasons, nice and aerodynamic.

There are ex Demochristians, many ex Demochristians, not only as elected in DC, but also people from the Catholic associationism: Mauro Betta (PPI --> La Margherita), Cristina de Luca (PPI --> La Margherita --> PD), Lorenzo Dellai (PPI --> La Margherita), Pino Pisicchio (Rinnovamento Italiano --> UDEUR --> Rinnovamento Puglia --> IdV), Claudio Molinari (Civica Margherita --> PD).

There are ex Republicans, such as Pier Giorgio Gawronski. And then ex Socialists, as Linda Lanzillotta (La Margherita --> PD), Enrico Boselli (SDI --> PS)-

And then again ex Socialdemocrats, ex Liberals, ex Greens.

The only ones missing are the two unicorns.

A party like this easily manages to stay in the Casini Third Pole and evaluate the insertion of a premier candidate in the primaries of central-left.

So we wait that the people of central left start to ask some fundamental questions about life, among which:

- Who are we?
- Where do we come from?
- Where do we want to go?

- Do we really exist?
- Really, Rutelli?

and we wait for the API website to publish their list for the organization of children parties, professional catering, black wells purging, disinfestation, infestation, organization of pilgrimages to Lourdes and or trips to Cuba, controlled demolitions and transportation of politicians.

For each new client, a Rutelli vane to put on your roof.
