Abbiamo intervistato Giuditta Pini, esponente dei Giovani Democratici e candidata al Parlamento per il PD.


Innanzitutto abbiamo chiesto a Giuditta come sia nato il suo percorso politico, e da dove è nata la sua voglia di fare politica: si è trattato di una strada intrapresa fin da piccolissima, poi proseguita alle superiori, con la carica di rappresentante della consulta degli studenti, e poi in modo più strutturato nei Giovani Democratici, quando ha iniziato a fare militanza attiva dentro al Partito Democratico.

Il motivo per cui ha deciso di candidarsi alle parlamentarie è stato che c'era un forte desiderio di garantire anche a Modena la possibilità di parlare di certi temi, come i diritti civili, la riforma del lavoro, il precariato: per questa ragione è stato fatto un appello, firmato da più di 200 persone, per chiederle di candidarsi.

All'epoca delle dichiarazioni omofobe di Giovanardi avevamo intervistato Giuditta a proposito di diritti civili: abbiamo quindi chiesto quali altre istanze ha intenzione di portare in Parlamento. A suo avviso si parla molto di Europa, ma in realtà in Italia non abbiamo gli stessi diritti che hanno gli altri cittadini europei: dobbiamo pensare al diritto all'istruzione, e a quei 50.000 ragazzi che hanno deciso di non immatricolarsi all'università quest'anno, il diritto al lavoro, e a quei 5 milioni di lavoratori senza alcun diritto di maternità, malattia, etc. Dobbiamo pensare al diritto alla salute, e alle migliaia di coppie costrette ad andare all'estero per avere un figlio, al diritto alla felicità, e a quelle coppie che non possono sposarsi nonostante lo desiderino, oppure il diritto di scegliere del proprio fine vita: chi dice che questi diritti non siano importanti sta omettendo un pezzo fondamentale della società, e non si tratta di qualcosa di secondario.

Per quanto riguarda il terremoto in Emilia Romagna, i Giovani Democratici sono stati subito molto attivi sul territorio, specialmente nel comune di Camposanto, dove la Protezione Civile non è arrivata subito. Per quasi due mesi i giovani dei GD hanno gestito una palestra con 180 sfollati, aiutati dai Giovani Mussulmani e altre piccole associazioni in zona. Si è riusciti, nonostante le circostanze tragiche, a costruire un senso di comunità, in cui tutti mettevano a disposizione le proprie conoscenze e capacità.

Attualmente gran parte dei lavori sono ripartiti, anche se nei centri storici ancora si sta valutando, insieme all Sovrintendenza dei Beni Artistici, quale sia il modo migliore per ricostruire. Si è dovuto fare tutto da zero, anche se poi fortunatamente si è riusciti a fare arrivare il 100% del rimborso per la ricostruzione, nonostante Monti, la Lega e il PDL avessero votato contro. Le procedure ci sono, i soldi anche, bisogna iniziare. L'idea è di fare urgentemente anche una legge quadro per la catastrofi naturali, perché non è accettabile che qualsiasi frana, alluvione o terremoto sia un'emergenza in Italia, anche perché accadono ogni 6 mesi circa.

Matteo Renzi ha introdotto il mantra della rottamazione nel PD, e nello scenario politico italiano, un tema che non era mai stato toccato nel dibattito nazionale. Secondo Giuditta i modi e i temi non erano adatti alla situazione, anche perché il semplice "essere giovane" non è un merito, ma una fase transitoria della propria vita. Renzi ha sicuramente il merito di essersi fatto portavoce di una voglia di cambiamento, di rinnovamento dei visi e delle idee, nonché delle proposte: ma cita Bersani, secondo il quale "le foglie nuove nascono dai rami vecchi". Questa ventata d'aria fresca si è concretizzata nelle primarie parlamentari, che hanno visto un rinnovamento quasi totale dei candidati, la maggior parte dei quali sono giovani o molto giovani.

Abbiamo chiesto a Giuditta se sia renziana o bersaniana: quando c'erano le primarie era bersaniana, ma ora è del PD. Fortunatamente dopo il 3 Dicembre non si sono create correnti all'interno del partito, e si è tornati ad essere tutti insieme. Le vecchie correnti non stavano più in piedi, ma finalmente è nato il PD, un partito coeso: ci saranno sempre delle visioni differenti riguardo a certe tematiche, ma l'importante è che la meta sia la stessa.

Abbiamo parlato anche di rapporto col territorio, l'influenza che la sua provenienza dai GD avrà sulla sua carriera politica e molto altro: per cui vi invito a visionare l'intervista integrale, molto più ricca di questa mia breve sintesi!

We interviewed Giuditta Pini, candidate at the Parlaiment for the Democratic Party, and member of the Young Democrats.

First of all we asked Giuditta how she started her political activity: shows the candidates to elections that have a Twitter account: from the application interface it is possible to send tweets to any candidate and see some aspects of their political position, such as the party they belong to.

We asked what the current situation regarding open data and civic hacking is in Italy: it is surely a very stimulating situation, because there haven't been any important results at a national level, which leaves space to doing much better. At the same time no datasets that are truly useful have been released, and often they're not even updated.

The data is released by the administrations in a easily readable format: the task of the civi hacker is to take the data and feed it to the machines, or write programs that use that data. Unfortunately both datasets and civic hackers are lacking, even though inside Spaghetti Open Data and Open Coesione there are many people who are doing their best to make a difference.

The ideal situation as for the transparency of the PA and the availability of open data would be to have regularly updated data, based on the frequency with which the data is collected: of course this requires a lot of work, and a place where you can easily find them and - why not - more colleagues to work with in order to get useful information out of them.

Alessio believes there is a tendency to say that data has a sense: data doesn't have any sense by itself, you need to read it and give an interpretation. Civic hackers are people who do a great fantasy work in order to understand how to use raw data, to make apps or get insights. There are already quite a few good examples, such as the app that gives an alert whenever you enter high risk neighborhoods, or the app that allows citizens to report problems with streets or urban decor.

In Italy there is also another problem, which is the randomness of data: they are released under several formats or subformats, which makes it difficult to normalize it. It becomes a huge task for the civic hacker, which is why it would be a great idea to introduce some laws regarding open data: for example, the PA should have to release a minimum number of datasets in a given format, and keep them updated, so that apps can be built upon them. Currently none of this has any legislation.

Open data represent an important tool of democracy and direct control, as Alberto Cottica has stated: getting in touch with political representatives, having in depth insights on the efficiency of the PA, the safety of the neighborhood, and even the efficiency of ambulances.

#GiovanardiLimonata: un bacio per dire "No" a Giovanardi

Domenica 19 febbraio Modena ha deciso di rispondere con un bacio collettivo di protesta all'intervento dell'Onorevole Carlo Giovanardi a Radio 24, in cui aveva definito il bacio pubblico tra due donne alla stregua di una persona che orina per strada.


E' stata una manifestazione forse piccola nei numeri ma grande nel contenuto e nella sentita partecipazione dei presenti quella indetta dai Giovani Democratici di Modena, Arcigay Modena più una sfilza di altre associazioni che hanno prontamente aderito.

Il Luogo scelto per la manifestazione era piazza Matteotti, la stessa piazza, neanche a farlo apposta, in cui qualche migliaio di donne a metà febbraio dello scorso anno si ritrovò al grido di “Se non ora quando”, per protestare contro Berlusconi e il suo Governo, stanche dell'immagine che della donna veniva costantemente data. E' passato poco più di un anno, il governo è cambiato ma ancora una volta ci si è dovuti ritrovare per protestare contro affermazioni discriminatorie, per difendere diritti e libertà che in un paese democratico, nel 2012 dovrebbero essere acquisiti da un pezzo.

Quando sono giunto in piazza attorno alle 15.40 un nugolo di giovani era già sul posto, indaffarato ad organizzare gli ultimi dettagli. C'era frenesia, era la prima volta per una manifestazione del genere a Modena. Chi organizzava sentiva sulle spalle il significato, enorme, di quel che stavano per iniziare. Chi partecipava sulle spalle probabilmente sentiva invece il peso della rappresentanza di quelli che non erano riusciti ad esserci, di tutti quelli che, come loro, sono costretti a battersi per farsi riconoscere il diritto ad amare, vivere, convivere alla luce del sole e della legge.

Alle 16 la manifestazione è cominciata, e se qualcuno si aspettava, o sperava in, una contestazione aggressiva deve essere rimasto deluso. I toni pacati, l'ironia di chi sa di avere dalla sua tutte le ragioni del mondo (e non si capisce perché non dovrebbe dopo tutto) e non ha nulla da nascondere perché non c'è niente di male da nascondere, l'impregnante e sincera voglia di affermare diritti e libertà, l'affetto, l'amore, cose semplici, che qui mica si chiedeva la luna, hanno trasformato quelle quasi tre ore in una festa gioiosa. Una festa dove la buona musica (dei Joy Ride) era solo buona musica e i baci erano solo baci, niente trucchi, semplici baci e non armi deterrenti spianate contro il “bon ton” come qualcuno avrebbe voluto farci credere. Insomma normalità. E verrebbe da dire che questa è l'Italia che vogliamo oggi, nessuno si senta offeso.

Sul palco tra una canzone e un bacio di piazza si sono susseguiti gli interventi, concisi, lucidi, sinceri, toccanti, come quello della mamma dell'associazione Agedo che ha spiegato come fosse insopportabile sentir definire i propri figli degli obrobri. Li guardavi, mamma e figlio, li sul palco abbracciati, una famiglia come ce ne sono tante, normali, perché è per l'affermazione della normalità che ci si batte, per chi ancora non lo avesse capito.

Nella piazza, sul palco, c'erano amici, mamme, papà e bambini che dovevano aver imparato a zompettare da pochi mesi, quei bambini che un domani dovranno vivere nel paese che stiamo cercando di costruire, a fatica, oggi. Un paese che vive nel paradosso del lecito truffare, ma illecito baciare chi si ama, di qualunque sesso esso sia.

Prima di concludere, forse avrei dovuto scrivere un post di cronaca con fatti e presenti, ma non me ne vogliate, di quelli ne trovate parecchi sui giornali. Ho preferito invece raccontare quello che mi è uscito dallo stomaco e dal cuore, ieri mentre mi trovavo in mezzo a quelle 200 persone che nulla facevano se non baciarsi con estrema candida normalità.

#GiovanardiLimonata: a kiss to say "No" to Giovanardi

Sunday, on the 19th of February, Modena has decided to answer with a protest collective kiss to MP Carlo Giovanardi's statement at Radio 24, where he said that a public kiss between two women is the same thing as a person peeing on the street.

It's been a manifestation that was small in numbers but big in content and warm participation of those who were present: it was all organized by Young Democrats of Modena, Arcigay Modena and other associations who have adhered to the initiative.

The location chosen for the protest was Matteotti Square, the same one - wouldn't have turned out so good even if it were done on purpose - where a few thousand women gathered in February last year shouting "If not now, when?" to protest against Berlusconi and his Government, tired of the image of the woman that was constantly given. It's been just a little more than one year, the government has changed, but once again it was necessary to go out and protest against discriminatory statements, to defend rights and freedom that in a democratic country, in 2012, should have been already given for granted.

When I arrived in the square at about 15.40 pm, a group of young people was already there, organizing the last details. There was frenzy, it was the first time a protest of this kind was done in Modena. Those who organized felt on their shoulders the enormous meaning of what was about to begin. Those who participated felt on their shoulders the responsability of representing those that couldn't be there, of those who - just as them - are forced to fight to see their right to love, live and cohabit recognized by society and law.

At 16.00 pm it all started, and if someone expected or hoped for an aggressive contestation, well: they were probably disappointed. The calm tones, the irony of who knows they're right (and it's not clear why they shouldn't be after all) and has nothing to hide because there's nothing bad that they should hide, the pervasive and honest desire to attest rights and freedom, love and affection, simple things, we weren't going for the moon, have transformed those three hours in a joyful party. A party where good music (by Joy Ride) was just good music and kisses were just kisses, no tricks, simple kisses and not deterrent weapons aimed at "bon ton", as someone would have wanted us to think. Just normality. And, with no offense, this is the Italy we want today.

On the stage, between one song and the other and a kiss in the square, there have been several speaches, concise, clear, honest, touching, like that of a mother from the Agedo association who explained how unbearable it is to hear her children defined as abnormal. You could look at them, mother and son, hugging on the stage, a family like many others, normal, because it is for the affirmation of normality that we're fighting, if you hadn't understood it already.

In the square, on stage, there were friends, moms, dads and children who probably learned to walk just a few months earlier, those children who tomorrow will have to live in the country that we're trying to build, with great difficulties, today. A country that lives in the paradox of "fraud is ok", but kissing someone whom you love, regardless of their sex, is not ok.

Before we finish, probably I should have written a post with facts and those who were present, but don't blame me, you can find plenty of those on the newspapers. I prefered to tell what came out of my heart and gut yesterday, among those 200 people who didn't do anything but kiss with an extreme, spotless normality.
