Dal @pdnetwork a una nuova #Sinistra?

Parlando con conoscenti vari in queste settimane sono rimasto con una sensazione di dubbio. La gente ha rinunciato a sperare in una sinistra possibile?

Dopo l'entusiasmo del momento primarie nelle immediate ore successive all'ultima tornata elettorale è seguito il disastro, quello a cui tutti abbiamo assistito. La strategia di Bersani, avanti tutta con il paraocchi senza badare minimamente a quel che la base gridava. L'inefficacia di un dialogo con il movimento 5 stelle (forse impossibile, ma comunque studiato strategicamente male). L'impasse per il Quirinale, con la clamorosa sfiducia a Romano Prodi, padre del PD. Il picche di SEL. Le conseguenti e ovvie, ma tardive, dimissioni di Bersani e della sua segreteria. La riapertura di vecchie e nuove faide interne alle rovine del partito.

Tutto questo nel giro di due mesi. I due mesi più duri per quella che poteva e doveva essere la nuova sinistra, riformatrice, aperta e proiettata in avanti di cui tanto nei mesi passati ci avevano parlato.

Nulla di fatto. O meglio, tutto da rifare. Con l'avvicinarsi di assemblea e apertura dei lavori di un congresso (che ancora non si capisce bene come sarà strutturato), con l'incertezza di una spada che pende minacciosa sullo strumento delle primarie, con l'intricata matassa delle correnti, vecchie e nuove che si dimenano nel grembo del corpo ferito del PD non è impossibile immaginare, anzi, certificare, una mancanza di fiducia, una rassegnazione da parte della base, dei militanti, dei circoli (occupati in molte parti del paese) che si sono sentiti abbandonati.

Come scrivevo in apertura, parlando con alcuni conoscenti del futuro del PD, e della sinistra in generale, ho riscontrato nelle loro parole una perdita di priorità nelle questioni della rifondazione (perché di questo si tratterà) del partito. Al contrario invece, l'apertura al tentativo Letta, pur se in alleanza con l'acerrimo nemico, ha ricevuto consensi, seppur rassegnati, ma di fatto come ha detto uno dei miei interlocutori, ad un certo momento bisogna pur fare di necessità virtù.

Chi vi scrive è tra quelli (e penso siano molti) che credono che arrivati a questo punto quello del governo appena nato fosse l'unico cammino percorribile per cercare di preparare, si spera per davvero, la strada a quella che sarà la terza Repubblica, una terza Repubblica che ad oggi stenta a decollare proprio per la mancanza di nuove fondamenta (riforme in primis) su cui sorgere. Ma non di meno invoca la rinascita di una sinistra e di un Partito Democratico veramente moderno, libero da personalismi, vecchie logiche, e svincolato dalla violenta e cieca battaglia interna tra le correnti che portano solo malanno. 

Non vacillo sulla speranza, non mi rassegno all'impossibilità di una nuova sinistra. Ma sento tutt'attorno venir meno quel senso di sostegno, di appartenenza dell'elettorato che è poi il cemento con cui consolidare il tutto. Mi aspetto dunque che tra le priorità dei prossimi lavori venga messo in primo piano l'ascolto e il dialogo con chi nel PD ci ha creduto, lo ha sostenuto, noi. La base.

Le prossime settimane, i prossimi mesi ci diranno se la lezione sarà stata finalmente imparata e le voci ascoltate. Se così non fosse dubito che in futuro molti si affanneranno nel tentativo di cementare le crepe.

From the PD to a new Left wing?

I wrote it in an article a few weeks ago: the PD, sooner or later, had to come to terms with its confused, indefinite, sometimes irritating identity. And it happened. But in the worst of ways: during the votation for the President of the Republic. And to kill the party wasn't just the Renzi area, but also the Bersani area.

But something happened that was even worse than the eternal clash between ex demochristians and ex communists: in an extremely difficult socio-economical-democratical momento for the country, the PD has divided itself into various currents - all fighting each other - which, closed in the dark rooms of the palace, have "burnt" Marini and betrayed Prodi - the founder of the PD, its most authoritative exponent - just to avoid letting the opposite side win. All of this, regardless of the problems of the country, regardless of the desires of the voters - who invoked the election of Stefano Rodotà - and even regardless of the loyal ally, that SEL who has been prepared a trap in the attempt to make it appear as the traitor of Prodi, in the attempt to cover up the mistakes.

And it won't be enough to change Bersani with Renzi, or change Finocchiaro with Richetti: what makes the PD inadequate and ready to explode at any time is - I repeat - its confused nature, that slows down its political action, its proposing to the public opinion of programs that can be clearly identified in a conservative or progressist wing.

In the meanwhile SEL has - obviously - shut down the relationships with this PD, more interested in surviving than making itself useful to solve Italy's problems. And Vendola, after saying no to Napolitano and voting Rodotà, has announced a future Rome assembly for the 8th of May, in which to start building a path for a "large, popular, governamental left wing". "Not a new rainbow left", Vendola has made it clear.

I don't know what exactly will be discussed in that meeting, but I am certain of one thing: we need a left without a "center" in front of it, and that doesn't have testimony minorities that are deadly for every political ambition. A secular, modern left wing, antiliberist and ecologist, that can put human rights at the top of its political programs. We need a left that can survive its leaders because the left wing is something much bigger and more noble than the biographies of 2 - 3 political leaders and their parties: the left is the brave voice of despair that is channeled in a fascinating human, and thus political experience. The left is, and must be, property of the people.

The left wing, as I wrote a few weeks ago, has the triple responsibility the right wing has: beyond leading the present, it must immagine and build the future. And it must realize that its defeat is the one of the weakest parts of the population. It must understand that it is a crime to leave them at the hand of the conservative perversions of the right. Because where the left is missing, equality, respect of human rights and respect for the planet we live on lack as well.

We need courage. We need to analyze our consciences. We need to look at ourselves in the mirror: but not only our political leaders: we, simple activists must do the same. And start by asking for honesty, competence and courage. Courage to defend the left wing identity, of course, but also not being afraid of indicating horizons that go beyond the national borders, because the future of our civilization is more and more decided outside of Italy. And I don't only indicate a probable adesion to the European Socialist Party on behalf of SEL or the next political party we'll have, but also an important move in European politics, through political actions that see the environment, jobs and human rights as protagonists in the game. Because Europe was born and was prospered that way, and it's dying because it has forgotten those values.

Left wing, go out in the light of the sun. Don't be afraid of your noble identity or of your people. Your loving assemblies are passional hugs to life and democracy. The future is yours.

#Comizidamore: dalle ceneri del @pdnetwork, una nuova Sinistra italiana ed europea #napolitanobis

Lo scrivevo in un articolo di qualche settimana fa: il PD, prima o poi, doveva fare i conti con la propria identità confusa, indefinita, a tratti irritante. E ciò è avvenuto. Ma nel modo peggiore: durante le votazioni per il Presidente della Repubblica. E ad "uccidere" il partito non è stata solo l'area renziana, ma anche quella bersaniana.

Ma è accaduto un qualcosa di molto peggiore dell'eterno scontro tra ex democristiani ed ex comunisti: in un momento socio-economico-democratico difficilissimo per il Paese, il PD si è diviso in varie correnti - tutte in lotta tra loro - che, chiuse nelle buie stanze del palazzo, hanno "bruciato" Marini e tradito Prodi - il fondatore del PD, il suo più autorevole esponente - pur di non darla vinta alla corrente avversaria. Tutto questo, In barba ai problemi del Paese, in barba al volere dei propri militanti ed elettori - che a gran voce invocavano l'elezione di Stefano Rodotà - in barba anche al leato alleato, quella Sel a cui è stata tesa una trappola indegna, nel meschino tentativo di farla apparire come "traditrice" di Prodi, coprendo così le proprie magagne.

E, badate, non servirà cambiare Bersani con Renzi, o cambiare la Finocchiaro con Richetti: ciò che rende il PD inadeguato e pronto ad esplodere in qualsiasi momento è - ripeto - la sua natura confusa, che frena la sua azione politica, il suo proporre all'opinione pubblica programmi che si identifichino chiaramente in uno schieramento conservatore o progressista.

Intanto, Sel ha - ovviamente - rotto i rapporti con questo PD, più interessato a sopravvivere che a rendersi utile per risolvere i guai dell'Italia. E Vendola, dopo aver detto di no a Napolitano e aver votato Rodotà, ha annunciato una prossima assemblea romana (per l'8 maggio) in cui iniziare a costruire il percorso per una "sinistra larga, popolare, di governo". "Non una nuova sinistra arcobaleno", ha precisato Vendola.

Non so bene di cosa si discuterà in quell'assemblea, ma sono certo di una cosa: serve una sinistra senza "centro" davanti né che si trascini appresso minoritarismi di testimonianza mortali per ogni ambizione politica e di governo. Una sinistra laica e moderna, antiliberista ed ecologista, che metta i diritti umani in cima ai suoi programmi politici. Serve una sinistra che sopravviva ai suoi dirigenti perché la sinistra è un qualcosa di molto più grande e nobile delle biografie di 2-3 leader politici e dei relativi partiti: la sinistra è la voce coraggiosa della disperazione che si incanala in una affascinante esperienza umana e quindi politica. La sinistra è, e deve essere, di proprietà del popolo.

La sinistra, come scrivevo qualche settimana fa, ha una tripla responsabilità in più rispetto alla destra: oltre a governare il presente, deve immaginare e costruire il futuro. E deve rendersi conto che la sua sconfitta è quella degli strati più deboli ed emarginati della popolazione. Deve capire che è quantomeno delittuoso lasciare costoro in balìa delle perversioni conservatrici della destra. Perché ovunque manchi sinistra, manca l'eguaglianza, il rispetto dei diritti umani e il rispetto verso il pianeta che ci ospita.

Serve coraggio. Servono esami di coscienza. Serve guardarsi in faccia. Ma questo non debbono farlo solo i nostri dirigenti politici: abbiamo il dovere di farlo anche noi semplici militanti. A partire dal chiedere onestà, competenza e coraggio. Coraggio nel difendere l'identità di sinistra, certo, ma anche nel non avere paura di indicare orizzonti che valichino i confini nazionali, perché il futuro della nostra civiltà si decide sempre di più fuori dall'Italia. E con questo non indico solo una probabile adesione al Partito Socialista Europeo da parte di Sel o del prossimo soggetto politico che verrà, ma anche una incisiva sterzata delle politiche europee, attraverso azioni politiche che vedano l'ambiente, il lavoro e i diritti umani farla da padrone. Perché l'Europa è nata e prosperata così, e sta morendo proprio perché ha sotterrato questi valori.

Sinistra, esci fuori, alla luce del sole. Non avere paura né della tua nobile identità né del tuo popolo. I tuoi comizi d'amore sono abbracci passionali alla vita e alla democrazia. Il futuro t'appartiene.

Il @pdnetwork, @sinistraelib e il sogno di una sinistra europea

In questi giorni si è molto parlato della probabile, prossima, "fusione" tra Sel e il Pd.

I primi vogliono «riaprire la partita» (cit. Vendola) definitivamente, creando quel contenitore politico che coniughi l'identità di sinistra e l'indispensabile vocazione governativa, che non renda l'attività politica solo un mero atto di testimonianza; i secondi, almeno la parte più a sinistra, sentono sempre di più la necessità di sganciarsi da quella sinistra... sinistra renziana, sempre più ingombrante a livello ideologico e strategico.

Perché, non nascondiamocelo: questo è un Paese messo come è messo perché negli ultimi vent'anni è mancata la sinistra. La sinistra che c'è stata e che c'è, si è sempre divisa tra quella (finta) riformista e quella elitaria, confusa e irrilevante, la cosiddetta «sinistra estrema». La nascita di SEL ha rotto quello schema e in questi ultimi 2 anni e mezzo abbiamo assistito ad un cambiamento reale: in città come Milano, Cagliari, Rieti, Genova e in regioni come la Puglia, Sel è stata in grado di ribaltare il grande PD e di eleggere a capo di queste città e di quella grande regione del Sud un proprio amministratore.

Ma, alla prova del voto, la sinistra è stata falcidiata: il PD, dato dai sondaggi oltre il 32%, si è ritrovato al 25%, la sinistra fuori dal centrosinistra è definitivamente scomparsa e Sel si è scoperta piccolina: col 3% dei voti (e il relativo spazio mediatico, quasi nullo) non si va molto avanti e non si riesce, pur con tutta la buona volontà, a raccogliere il necessario consenso utile ai grandi cambiamenti di cui necessita questo Paese. Stesso discorso vale per il PD: con una natura così incerta e destabilizzante, con una dirigenza così spaccata e spesso inaffidabile, non si fa il bene della sinistra e quindi quello del Paese.

Inutile dire che è arrivato il momento delle scelte, è arrivato il momento del coraggio. Ma non è detto che questo cambiamento arrivi domani: questi processi richiedono calma, pazienza, riflessioni approfondite che evitino pasticci difficili da correggere, poi. Pasticci che ammazzerebbero definitivamente quel barlume di speranza che ancora resiste nei confronti dell'identità di sinistra. Ecco perché serve ragionare su chi siamo, su cosa vogliamo fare e su dove vogliamo andare. Perché il punto, guardate, non è SEL o il PD. Non è Vendola o Bersani, ma un qualcosa di molto più grande: la sinistra e quindi il destino di milioni di persone che chiedono a gran voce di essere rappresentate degnamente. Quando la sinistra fallisce, non c'è solo la sconfitta di un partito e della sua relativa classe dirigente: avviene la sconfitta della classe operaia, dei poveri, degli emarginati. Dobbiamo renderci conto di avere una responsabilità addosso doppia, se non tripla, rispetto alla destra: noi oltre a governare il presente, dobbiamo immaginare e costruire il futuro. Ecco a cosa servono i progressisti, la sinistra.

Nel frattempo, sognare non costa nulla. Chissà se, finalmente, potremo avere nel nostro Paese un vero partito di sinistra, senza «centro» davanti né «estrema» dietro, che faccia della giustizia sociale, della parità dei diritti, dell'ambientalismo e della laicità i suoi tratti fondanti. Un partito che abbia anche una indispensabile collocazione europea, che non potrebbe non essere quella del PSE. Un partito che si candidi alla guida del Paese senza fare inutili giri di parole sulle alleanze né abbia paura di mettere sulla bilancia dell'azione politica la propria gloriosa identità. Una identità che, alla fine, è il megafono di chi è così emarginato da non avere voce e speranza.

Sinistra, ridiventa straccio e che il più povero ti sventoli.

SEL, the PD and the dream of an European left wing

These days there's been a lot of talk about the probable future fusion of SEL and PD.

The first want to reopen the game definitely, creating that political box that can mix the leftwing identity and the indispensable governmental vocation, which allows the political activity to be more than a mere act of testimony; the latter, at least the part that is more on the left, feel more and more the need to get rid of that Renzi connected left, which is growing more and more uncomfortable at an ideologic and strategic level.

Because, let's not hide it: this country is how it is because during the last few years the left wing has been absent. The left wing that was there and that is here now, has always been divided between the fake reformist and the elitary, confused and irrilevant one, the so called "extreme left wing". The birth of SEL has broken this pattern and during these last two years and a half we've seen a real change: in cities like Milan, Cagliari, Rieti, Genua and in regions like Puglia, SEL has been capable to overthrow the great PD and elect as heads of these cities and that great region of the South one of its own administrators.

But, at the votes, the left wing has been cut down: the PD, which the polls gave at over 32%, found itself with 25%, the left outside the centerleft has disappeared entirely and SEL found out it's truly small: with 3% of votes (and the relative media space, almost nothing), you don't go very far and you can't manage, in spite of all the good will, to collect the consensus that is useful to the great changes this country needs. Same thing for PD: with such an uncertain and destabilizing nature, with a direction that is so shattered and often unreliable, you don't do the good of the left wing, nor the good of the country.

Useless to say that we're at the moment of choices, and the moment of courage is here. But it doesn't mean this change will come tomorrow: these processes require calm, patience, in depth reflexions that will avoid difficult to correct errors later. Problems that would definitely kill the last spark of hope that still remains towards the identity of the left. That's why we need to think about who we are, what we want to do and where we want to go.

#Comizidamore: #PapaFrancesco, la politica e la laicità, questa sconosciuta...

La settimana è stata segnata da infiniti colloqui istituzionali, dalle continue gaffes grilline e...dalle azioni sempre più sorprendenti del nuovo Pontefice.

Premessa doverosa: non sono credente, ma agnostico. Le confessioni religiose non suscitano in me particolare interesse, ma curiosità. Credo ci sia qualcosa di buono da imparare da ogni religione.

Fatta questa premessa, è indubbio che il nuovo Pontefice brilli in sobrietà, un termine spesso violato del suo significato positivo e sconosciuto dalle parti del Vaticano. Papa Francesco sembra avere anche altre due qualità sprovviste al suo predecessore: carisma e umanità. Almeno, dai primi gesti sembrano trasparire queste doti.

Ma voglio essere sincero: fino a quando non ascolterò da lui parole di rispetto verso la comunità omosessuale (i cittadini più invisi al Vaticano, fino ad oggi) preferisco non illudermi né tracciarne un profilo eccessivamente positivo. Non mi aspetto che, tutto ad un tratto, la Chiesa si apra. Né mi aspetto particolari aperture dal punto di vista dei diritti civili. Ma il rispetto sì, quello lo pretendo anche dalla Chiesa (e dalle altre confessioni religiose) pur non essendo credente.

Perché, vedete, a preoccuparmi non è tanto la Chiesa e le sue battaglie vetero-moraliste. A preoccuparmi è la politica italiana e la sua totale ipocrisia e incoerenza, la sua totale dipendenza dai diktat vaticani e quindi la sua storica mancanza di laicità. A destra come a sinistra.

Ma mentre la destra - i conservatori, dunque - ha come obiettivo principale il mantenimento dello status quo, e quindi il suo atteggiamento chiuso e ottuso è arcinoto (anche se in Europa i conservatori spesso hanno idee, sui diritti civili, più a sinistra del centrosinistra italiano) la sinistra - i progressisti, quindi - dovrebbe seguire la stella polare del cambiamento radicale, dell'uguaglianza per tutti su tutto, dalle condizioni economiche a quelle dei diritti umani.

In Italia, abbiamo una sinistra che spesso si è moderata - sui diritti civili, per esempio - per paura di perdere voti "cattolici" o "moderati". Per paura di apparire invisa al clero e al potere vaticano. Abbiamo avuto, fino ad adesso, una sinistra...sinistra. Una sinistra senza coraggio e senza la benché minima volontà di apparire laica e indipendente dalla gelida mano vaticana che le tira la giacchetta un giorno sì e l'altro pure.

Certo, non mi va di fare di tutta erba un fascio. Perché, per esempio, Sel ha portato in Parlamento, con coraggio e determinazione (mantenendo, di fatto, la propria promessa elettorale) un tema "scottante" come i matrimoni e le adozioni gay. Stessa proposta presentata anche dal PD con Scalfarotto. Ma lo stesso PD (pagando la sua natura non ancora ben definita) su questioni come quelle dei diritti civili, spesso ha tergiversato, si è diviso ed ha confuso l'opinione pubblica. Passando agli altri: centrodestra totalmente assente su laicità e diritti civili; M5S spesso confuso, contraddittorio e poco credibile sul tema dei diritti civili e della laicità dello Stato.

Ecco che, dunque, al Paese è mancata una politica realmente seria, indipendente dal Vaticano e dunque LAICA. Una politica che non si lasciasse condizionare da precetti religiosi. Come dovrebbe essere secondo la nostra Costituzione. E allora, permettetemi di dire che più che prendermela con Papa Ratzinger, Papa Francesco e Papa Mario (ma da loro esigo rispetto), io me la prendo con una politica (soprattutto con la "mia" sinistra) senza dignità, indecentemente ed insensatamente paurosa, e che spesso ha usato una ipocrita doppia morale: immoralista nella vita privata e moralista nella vita pubblica (come spesso capita al ceto politico e culturale di centrodestra).

Quando la politica italiana deciderà di diventare realmente laica e la sinistra realmente progressista, potremo - finalmente - accogliere qualsiasi opinione del Pontefice con relativa serenità e distacco. Fino ad allora, dovremo sperare nell'apertura mentale vaticana per poter vedere effetti reali - sui temi etici - da parte della politica. E siamo nel 2013. D.C..

Pope Francis, politics and laicism, this unknown concept

The week has been signed by infinite institutional encounters, by the continuous Grillo fan gaffes and... by the surprising actions of the new Pope.

An obliged premise: I'm not a believeer, but an agnostic. Religious confessions don't interest me, but they do make me curious. I think there's something good to learn from every religion.

This being said, undoubtedly the new Pope shines with sobriety, a term way too often violated of its positive meaning and unknown at the Vatican. Pope Francis seems to also have two other qualities which his predecessor lacked: charisma and humanity. At least, from his first actions these qualities seem to come through.

But I do want to be honest: until I hear from him words of respect towards the gay community (the most unpleasant citizens for the Vatican, until today), I prefer not to form illusions or make an excessively positive portrait of him. I don't expect, all of the sudden, for the Church to open up. Nor do I expect particular openings from the point of view of civil rights. But respect yes, I want that from the Church (and the other religious confessions) even though I'm not a believer.

Because, you see, I'm not that worried by the Church and its vetero-moralist battles. It's the Italian politics and its total hypocrisy and incoherence that worries me, its total dependence to Vatican diktats and its historical lack of laicism. In the right wing as in the left wing.

But while the right - the conservatives - has as its main goal to maintain the status quo, and its closed and obtuse approach is quite well known (even though in Europe conservatives have ideas on civil rights that are more on the left than the Italian centerleft) the left - the progressives - sohuld follow the Northern Star of radical change, of equality for all on everything, from economical conditions to human rights.

In Italy, we have a left that has often moderated itself - on civil rights, for example - in fear of losing "catholic" or "moderate" votes. Afraid of appearing unpleasant to the Church and the Vatican power. We've had, until now, a left... left. A left without courage and without the slightest willingness of appearing laicist and independent from the cold Vatican hand that grabs its jacket almost every day.

Of course, I don't want to say it's all the same. Because, for example, SEL has brought to the Parliament, with courage and determination (maintaining, de facto, its electoral promise) a "hot" topic such as gay weddings and adoptions. The same proposal presented by PD with Scalfarotto as well. But the same PD (paying for its nature that is not yet well defined) on matters such as civil rights, has often shilly-shallied, divided itself and confused the public opinion. Let's see the others: center-right completely absent on laicism and civil rights; M5S often confused, contradictory and not very believable on the topic of civil rights and the laicism of the State.

So, the country has lacked a truly serious politics, independent from the Vatican and thus truly LAICIST. A politic that didn't let itself be conditioned by religious precepts. As it is supposed to be according to our Constitution. So allow me to say that more than being upset with Pope Ratzinger, Pope Francis or Pope Mario (but I do want respect from them), I'm upset with a politics (especially "my" left) without dignity, indecently and insanely fearful, and that has often used a hypocrite double morale: immoralist in private life and moralist in public life (as often is the case in the political and cultural class of center-right).

When the Italian politics will decide to become truly laicist and the left truly progressist, we will be - finally - able to receive any opinion of the Pope with relative serenity and detachment. Until then, we'll have to hope for a Vatican mental opening in order to see real effects - on the ethical topics - on behalf of our politics. And we are in 2013 A.D..

La Sinistra torna in #Parlamento (ma nessuno ne parla)

Mentre i grandi media s'affannano a rincorrere apriscatole e altre perversioni fanatiche grilline; ad osservare le facce tristi dei montiani, la Santanché che arriva in bicicletta a Montecitorio e il baciamano di Casini alla Finocchiaro, è passato sotto silenzio il ritorno della sinistra in Parlamento.

Ebbene sì, con i 45 parlamentari di Sinistra Ecologia Libertà, tante istanze - dai diritti lgbtq alla tutela dell'ambiente, passando per il reddito minimo garantito - ora possono trovare voce nel luogo per eccellenza della nostra democrazia: il Parlamento.

Queste sono le prime 8 proposte di legge depositate oggi da Sinistra Ecologia Libertà nel suo primo giorno di vita parlamentare:

- Legge per riconoscimento della cittadinanza ai bimbi stranieri nati in Italia.
- Legge contro le dimissioni in bianco.
- Legge per la ripubblicizzazione del sistema idrico integrato.
- Legge sull'agricoltura sociale.
- Legge per i matrimoni gay.
- Legge per la tutela del paessaggio e la bellezza del territorio.
- Legge anticorruzione per la modifica art.416 ter codice penale.
- Legge che istituisca anche in Italia il reddito minimo garantito. *

* Il reddito minimo garantito si differenzia dal reddito di cittadinanza (proposto dal M5S) perché il reddito di cittadinanza prevede il pagamento di un reddito prestabilito (1000 euro, secondo le promesse di Grillo) a tutti i cittadini, aldilà se abbiano un impiego o meno. Come capirete, sarebbe molto costoso e quindi improponibile sotto ogni punto di vista (secondo alcuni economisti ci costerebbe 20 punti di PIL!). Il reddito minimo garantito, invece, è uno strumento sociale presente in tutti i Paesi UE (tranne Italia, Grecia e Polonia) che permette, a chi non ha un'occupazione, di avere una soglia minima di reddito (secondo la proposta di SEL, che riprende quella di TILT, la soglia minima sarebbe di 600 euro). SEL ha raccolto le firme per questa proposta di legge, eppure - sui media - è passata l'idea che a fare una proposta del genere fosse stato solo Grillo (che invece parla d'altro e non di reddito minimo garantito). Una evidente stortura del nostro sistema d'informazione, sempre pronto a salire sul carro del vincitore più che interessato a scovare e rendere visibile verità e meriti non sempre visibili ad occhio nudo.

Quelle 8 proposte sopra sono un sogno? No, ma qualcosa che gli si avvicina: la sinistra. Una sinistra degna di tale nome che, tentando di coniugare identità e necessaria esperienza di governo, si è guadagnata l'accesso alle Aule parlamentari. Eppure di tutto questo, sui grandi media, non se ne sente parlare. Interi servizi dei telegiornali o dei talk-show politici interamente dedicati ai "fantastici" grillini, paladini del bene, e neanche un servizio per rendere onore a personaggi come Laura Boldrini, Giorgio Airaudo, Giulio Marcon e tanti/e altri/e eletti di Sel, l'unica formazione di sinistra presente in Parlamento. Sia chiaro, comprendo che il fenomeno grillino sia l'argomento del momento, ma credo che alla fine - una informazione all'altezza - debba concentrarsi di più su proposte e contenuti, più che su polemiche e voyeurismi deprecabili.

In ogni caso, faccio notare che mentre c'è chi si occupa di rimborsi elettorali (i costi della politica vanno comunque ridotti e regolamentati; ma corruzione, evasione e criminalità organizzata sono le vere metastasi del Paese) e dei bicchieri da etichettare col proprio nome, c'è qualcuno - come i parlamentari di SEL - che si concentrano sulla carne viva dei problemi che attanagliano questo Paese. Perché la politica (e quindi il Paese) non può che sopravvivere così. E per fortuna c'è chi, ogni giorno, ci dimostra che no, non sono "tutti uguali". Forse se l'informazione fosse meno infatuata dai fenomeni di turno e più equilibrata, se ne accorgerebbero un po' tutti...

The Left is back in the Parliament (but nobody talks about it)

As the media hassle trying to find can openers and other Grillo fanatic perversions; seeing the sad faces of the Monti followers, Santanché arriving with a bike at Montecitorio and Casini's hand kissing to Finocchiaro, the return of the Left in the Parliament has gone silent. Well yes, with the 45 parliamentaries of SEL, many instances - from the LGBTQ rights to preservation of the environment, passing throught the minimum guaranteed income - now can find a voice in the place for excellence of our democracy: the Parliament.

These are the first 8 law proposals deposited a few days ago by SEL in its first day of parliamentary life:

- Law for the recognition of citizenship to foreign children born in Italy.
- Law against blank resignations.
- Law for social agriculture.
- Law for gay marriage.
- Law for the preservation of the landscape and the beauty of the territory
- Law against corruption for the change of the art. 416 of the penal code.
- Law that institutes in Italy the minimum guaranteed income*.

*The minimum guaranteed income is different from the citizenship income (proposed by M5S) because the latter means the payment of a pre-established income (1000 euro, according to Grillo's promises) to all citizens, regardless of whether they have a job or not. As you can imagine, it would be extremely expensive and impossible under all points of view, as some economists estimate it would cost us about 20 points of GDP!). The guaranteed minimum income, on the contrary, is a social tool present in all EU countries (except for Italy, Greece and Poland), which allows to those who don't have a job to have a minimum income (according to SEL, who gets inspiration from that of TILT, the minimum amount would be 600 euro). SEL  has gathered the signatures for this law proposal, and yet - on the media - journalists have passed the idea that only Grillo made such a proposal (who actually is talking about something else, not the minimum guaranteed income). An evident distortion of our information system, always ready to get on the winner's side, more than being interested in finding and making truth and merits that are not always visible with the naked eye, evident for all to see.

Are those 8 proposals above a dream? No, but something that goes near: the Left. A left that is worthy of the name, and that - trying to put together identity and necessary government experience - has earned the access to the parliamentary rooms. And yet of all of this, on the big media, you don't hear a word. Whole services of TGs or political talk shows entirely dedicated to the fantastic Grillo followers, bearers of good, and not even one service to honor people like Laura Boldrini, Giorgio Airaudo, Giulio Marcon and many other elected in SEL, the only left wing formation present in the Parliament. Let it be clear, I understand that the Grillo phenomenon is the topic of the moment, but I think that in the end - an information that is worthy of the name - must concentrate on more proposals and contents, more than despicable voyeurisms and discussions.

Anyhow, I'd like to point out that while there is someone who deals with elections refunds (the costs of politics must be reduced and regulated; but corruption, tax evasion and organized crime are the true plagues of our country) and of the plastic cups to label with their names, there is someone - like SEL parliamentaries - who concentrate on the living flesh of the problems that anguish the country. Because politics - and thus the country - can only survive this way. And fortunately there is someone who, every day, proves that no, they aren't all the same. Perhaps if information was less infatuated by the daily phenomenons and more balanced, more people would actually notice...

Domani avremo il piacere di intervistare Giuseppe Civati, politico e blogger italiano, consigliere regionale in Lombardia per il PD e rottamatore.

Laureato in filosofia nel 1998, nel 2004 ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca all'Università Statale di Milano, dove ha collaborato alla ricerca presso la cattedra di Storia della Filosofia.
Ha lavorato anche presso l'Istituto Studi del Rinascimento di Firenze e l'Universitat de Barcelona, in Spagna, occupandosi prevalentemente di filosofia del Rinascimento e di comprensione filosofica della globalizzazione e dell'identità dell'Occidente.

Eletto al Consiglio comunale di Monza nel 1997, l'anno successivo è diventato segretario cittadino dei Democratici di Sinistra. È stato membro anche della segreteria provinciale e regionale sino alla fondazione del Partito Democratico nel 2007, al quale è iscritto.

Dal 2005 è consigliere regionale in Lombardia, eletto nelle liste di Uniti nell'Ulivo, ed oggi fa parte del gruppo consiliare del PD.
Dal 2004 gestisce un seguito blog in cui affronta prevalentemente tematiche connesse con il dibattito politico.

Dopo le dimissioni di Walter Veltroni del 17 febbraio 2009 dalla presidenza del PD, è risultato il secondo più votato dai partecipanti al sondaggio online del settimanale L'Espresso per la scelta del nuovo leader del partito.
Viene considerato uno degli esponenti di punta tra i cosiddetti "trentenni" che potrebbero guidare il ricambio generazionale del Partito Democratico.

Nel luglio del 2009 è diventato il coordinatore nazionale della Campagna Elettorale di Ignazio Marino in vista del Primo Congresso e della Primarie del Partito Democratico.
Alle elezioni amministrative del 28-29 marzo è stato rieletto consigliere della regione Lombardia nella circoscrizione di Monza con 10.256 preferenze.

Nell'aprile del 2010, a causa del diffuso malcontento tra gli elettori democratici per l'esito delle elezioni regionali, Civati dà vita assieme a Carlo Monguzzi al movimento politico interno al Partito Democratico chiamato "Andiamo Oltre", che si definisce come "un contratto a progetto, della durata di tre mesi, che vede coinvolte tutte le persone che hanno a cuore il futuro del Paese e del PD".

L'impegno assunto da coloro che hanno simbolicamente sottoscritto il contratto è di "non prendere in considerazione le vicende interne del partito, ma a prendere in considerazione esclusivamente i progetti e le proposte da fare al Paese".

Ha organizzato insieme a Matteo Renzi (sindaco di Firenze), il congresso/raduno "Prossima fermata: Italia", nei giorni 5, 6 e 7 novembre 2010, presso la Stazione Leopolda di Firenze, conosciuto anche come il "raduno dei rottamatori".

Avremo modo di parlare dell'attuale situazione politica italiana, di intercettazioni, processi, conflitti d'interessi e della crisi economica, giusto per citare alcuni temi.

Tomorrow we'll have the pleasure of interviewing Giuseppe Civati, Italian politician and blogger.

He graduated Philosophy in 1998, and in 2004 he obtained the research doctorate at the Università Statale di Milano, where he collaborated in the research with the History of Philosophy chair.
He also worked at the Institute of Studies on Reinassance in Florence and the Universitat de Barcelona, in Spain, dealing mostly with Reinassance philosophy and the philosophical understanding of globalization and West identity.

Elected at the town council of Monza in 1997, the following year he became secretary of the Democratici di Sinistra. He has also been member of the provincial and regional secretary until the founding of the Partito Democratico, of which he is currently a member.

From 2005 he has been regional councillor in Lombardy, elected in the lists of Uniti nell'Ulivo, and today he is part of the council group of PD.
In 2004 he started a very popular blog in which he discusses mostly topics related to politics.

After Walter Veltroni's resignation the 17th of February 2009 from the presidency, he turned out to be the second most voted by participants to an online poll organized by L'Espresso as the choice for the new leader of the party.
He is considered one of the most important "thirty year olds" that might guide the generation change inside the Partito Democratico.

In July 2009 he became the national coordinator of Ignazio Marino's Electoral Campaign before the First Congress and primary elections of PD.
At the administrative elections of 28-29 March he was re-elected regional councillor in Lombardy with 10.256 votes.

In April 2010, due to the spreading discontent among democrats for the results of the regional elections, Civati started, together with Carlo Monguzzi, a political movement inside the PD, called "Andiamo Oltre", that which is defined as "a project contract, 3 months long, that involves everyone who cares about the future of the country and of the PD."
The committment of those who have simbolically signed the contract would be to "not consider the internal facts of the party, but only consider the projects and proposals for the country".

He has organized, together with Matteo Renzi, mayor of Florence, the congress "Prossima fermata: Italia", also known as the "gathering of scrappers".

We'll have the chance to talk about the current political situation in Italy, wiretappings, trials, conflicts of interest and the economical crisis, just to name a few topics.
