#Comizidamore: dalle ceneri del @pdnetwork, una nuova Sinistra italiana ed europea #napolitanobis

Lo scrivevo in un articolo di qualche settimana fa: il PD, prima o poi, doveva fare i conti con la propria identità confusa, indefinita, a tratti irritante. E ciò è avvenuto. Ma nel modo peggiore: durante le votazioni per il Presidente della Repubblica. E ad "uccidere" il partito non è stata solo l'area renziana, ma anche quella bersaniana.

Ma è accaduto un qualcosa di molto peggiore dell'eterno scontro tra ex democristiani ed ex comunisti: in un momento socio-economico-democratico difficilissimo per il Paese, il PD si è diviso in varie correnti - tutte in lotta tra loro - che, chiuse nelle buie stanze del palazzo, hanno "bruciato" Marini e tradito Prodi - il fondatore del PD, il suo più autorevole esponente - pur di non darla vinta alla corrente avversaria. Tutto questo, In barba ai problemi del Paese, in barba al volere dei propri militanti ed elettori - che a gran voce invocavano l'elezione di Stefano Rodotà - in barba anche al leato alleato, quella Sel a cui è stata tesa una trappola indegna, nel meschino tentativo di farla apparire come "traditrice" di Prodi, coprendo così le proprie magagne.

E, badate, non servirà cambiare Bersani con Renzi, o cambiare la Finocchiaro con Richetti: ciò che rende il PD inadeguato e pronto ad esplodere in qualsiasi momento è - ripeto - la sua natura confusa, che frena la sua azione politica, il suo proporre all'opinione pubblica programmi che si identifichino chiaramente in uno schieramento conservatore o progressista.

Intanto, Sel ha - ovviamente - rotto i rapporti con questo PD, più interessato a sopravvivere che a rendersi utile per risolvere i guai dell'Italia. E Vendola, dopo aver detto di no a Napolitano e aver votato Rodotà, ha annunciato una prossima assemblea romana (per l'8 maggio) in cui iniziare a costruire il percorso per una "sinistra larga, popolare, di governo". "Non una nuova sinistra arcobaleno", ha precisato Vendola.

Non so bene di cosa si discuterà in quell'assemblea, ma sono certo di una cosa: serve una sinistra senza "centro" davanti né che si trascini appresso minoritarismi di testimonianza mortali per ogni ambizione politica e di governo. Una sinistra laica e moderna, antiliberista ed ecologista, che metta i diritti umani in cima ai suoi programmi politici. Serve una sinistra che sopravviva ai suoi dirigenti perché la sinistra è un qualcosa di molto più grande e nobile delle biografie di 2-3 leader politici e dei relativi partiti: la sinistra è la voce coraggiosa della disperazione che si incanala in una affascinante esperienza umana e quindi politica. La sinistra è, e deve essere, di proprietà del popolo.

La sinistra, come scrivevo qualche settimana fa, ha una tripla responsabilità in più rispetto alla destra: oltre a governare il presente, deve immaginare e costruire il futuro. E deve rendersi conto che la sua sconfitta è quella degli strati più deboli ed emarginati della popolazione. Deve capire che è quantomeno delittuoso lasciare costoro in balìa delle perversioni conservatrici della destra. Perché ovunque manchi sinistra, manca l'eguaglianza, il rispetto dei diritti umani e il rispetto verso il pianeta che ci ospita.

Serve coraggio. Servono esami di coscienza. Serve guardarsi in faccia. Ma questo non debbono farlo solo i nostri dirigenti politici: abbiamo il dovere di farlo anche noi semplici militanti. A partire dal chiedere onestà, competenza e coraggio. Coraggio nel difendere l'identità di sinistra, certo, ma anche nel non avere paura di indicare orizzonti che valichino i confini nazionali, perché il futuro della nostra civiltà si decide sempre di più fuori dall'Italia. E con questo non indico solo una probabile adesione al Partito Socialista Europeo da parte di Sel o del prossimo soggetto politico che verrà, ma anche una incisiva sterzata delle politiche europee, attraverso azioni politiche che vedano l'ambiente, il lavoro e i diritti umani farla da padrone. Perché l'Europa è nata e prosperata così, e sta morendo proprio perché ha sotterrato questi valori.

Sinistra, esci fuori, alla luce del sole. Non avere paura né della tua nobile identità né del tuo popolo. I tuoi comizi d'amore sono abbracci passionali alla vita e alla democrazia. Il futuro t'appartiene.

From the ashes of the PD, a new Italian and European left wing

I wrote it in an article a few weeks ago: the PD, sooner or later, had to come to terms with its confused, indefinite, sometimes irritating identity. And it happened. But in the worst of ways: during the votation for the President of the Republic. And to kill the party wasn't just the Renzi area, but also the Bersani area.

But something happened that was even worse than the eternal clash between ex demochristians and ex communists: in an extremely difficult socio-economical-democratical momento for the country, the PD has divided itself into various currents - all fighting each other - which, closed in the dark rooms of the palace, have "burnt" Marini and betrayed Prodi - the founder of the PD, its most authoritative exponent - just to avoid letting the opposite side win. All of this, regardless of the problems of the country, regardless of the desires of the voters - who invoked the election of Stefano Rodotà - and even regardless of the loyal ally, that SEL who has been prepared a trap in the attempt to make it appear as the traitor of Prodi, in the attempt to cover up the mistakes.

And it won't be enough to change Bersani with Renzi, or change Finocchiaro with Richetti: what makes the PD inadequate and ready to explode at any time is - I repeat - its confused nature, that slows down its political action, its proposing to the public opinion of programs that can be clearly identified in a conservative or progressist wing.

In the meanwhile SEL has - obviously - shut down the relationships with this PD, more interested in surviving than making itself useful to solve Italy's problems. And Vendola, after saying no to Napolitano and voting Rodotà, has announced a future Rome assembly for the 8th of May, in which to start building a path for a "large, popular, governamental left wing". "Not a new rainbow left", Vendola has made it clear.

I don't know what exactly will be discussed in that meeting, but I am certain of one thing: we need a left without a "center" in front of it, and that doesn't have testimony minorities that are deadly for every political ambition. A secular, modern left wing, antiliberist and ecologist, that can put human rights at the top of its political programs. We need a left that can survive its leaders because the left wing is something much bigger and more noble than the biographies of 2 - 3 political leaders and their parties: the left is the brave voice of despair that is channeled in a fascinating human, and thus political experience. The left is, and must be, property of the people.

The left wing, as I wrote a few weeks ago, has the triple responsibility the right wing has: beyond leading the present, it must immagine and build the future. And it must realize that its defeat is the one of the weakest parts of the population. It must understand that it is a crime to leave them at the hand of the conservative perversions of the right. Because where the left is missing, equality, respect of human rights and respect for the planet we live on lack as well.

We need courage. We need to analyze our consciences. We need to look at ourselves in the mirror: but not only our political leaders: we, simple activists must do the same. And start by asking for honesty, competence and courage. Courage to defend the left wing identity, of course, but also not being afraid of indicating horizons that go beyond the national borders, because the future of our civilization is more and more decided outside of Italy. And I don't only indicate a probable adesion to the European Socialist Party on behalf of SEL or the next political party we'll have, but also an important move in European politics, through political actions that see the environment, jobs and human rights as protagonists in the game. Because Europe was born and was prospered that way, and it's dying because it has forgotten those values.

Left wing, go out in the light of the sun. Don't be afraid of your noble identity or of your people. Your loving assemblies are passional hugs to life and democracy. The future is yours.

Il @pdnetwork, @sinistraelib e il sogno di una sinistra europea

In questi giorni si è molto parlato della probabile, prossima, "fusione" tra Sel e il Pd.

I primi vogliono «riaprire la partita» (cit. Vendola) definitivamente, creando quel contenitore politico che coniughi l'identità di sinistra e l'indispensabile vocazione governativa, che non renda l'attività politica solo un mero atto di testimonianza; i secondi, almeno la parte più a sinistra, sentono sempre di più la necessità di sganciarsi da quella sinistra... sinistra renziana, sempre più ingombrante a livello ideologico e strategico.

Perché, non nascondiamocelo: questo è un Paese messo come è messo perché negli ultimi vent'anni è mancata la sinistra. La sinistra che c'è stata e che c'è, si è sempre divisa tra quella (finta) riformista e quella elitaria, confusa e irrilevante, la cosiddetta «sinistra estrema». La nascita di SEL ha rotto quello schema e in questi ultimi 2 anni e mezzo abbiamo assistito ad un cambiamento reale: in città come Milano, Cagliari, Rieti, Genova e in regioni come la Puglia, Sel è stata in grado di ribaltare il grande PD e di eleggere a capo di queste città e di quella grande regione del Sud un proprio amministratore.

Ma, alla prova del voto, la sinistra è stata falcidiata: il PD, dato dai sondaggi oltre il 32%, si è ritrovato al 25%, la sinistra fuori dal centrosinistra è definitivamente scomparsa e Sel si è scoperta piccolina: col 3% dei voti (e il relativo spazio mediatico, quasi nullo) non si va molto avanti e non si riesce, pur con tutta la buona volontà, a raccogliere il necessario consenso utile ai grandi cambiamenti di cui necessita questo Paese. Stesso discorso vale per il PD: con una natura così incerta e destabilizzante, con una dirigenza così spaccata e spesso inaffidabile, non si fa il bene della sinistra e quindi quello del Paese.

Inutile dire che è arrivato il momento delle scelte, è arrivato il momento del coraggio. Ma non è detto che questo cambiamento arrivi domani: questi processi richiedono calma, pazienza, riflessioni approfondite che evitino pasticci difficili da correggere, poi. Pasticci che ammazzerebbero definitivamente quel barlume di speranza che ancora resiste nei confronti dell'identità di sinistra. Ecco perché serve ragionare su chi siamo, su cosa vogliamo fare e su dove vogliamo andare. Perché il punto, guardate, non è SEL o il PD. Non è Vendola o Bersani, ma un qualcosa di molto più grande: la sinistra e quindi il destino di milioni di persone che chiedono a gran voce di essere rappresentate degnamente. Quando la sinistra fallisce, non c'è solo la sconfitta di un partito e della sua relativa classe dirigente: avviene la sconfitta della classe operaia, dei poveri, degli emarginati. Dobbiamo renderci conto di avere una responsabilità addosso doppia, se non tripla, rispetto alla destra: noi oltre a governare il presente, dobbiamo immaginare e costruire il futuro. Ecco a cosa servono i progressisti, la sinistra.

Nel frattempo, sognare non costa nulla. Chissà se, finalmente, potremo avere nel nostro Paese un vero partito di sinistra, senza «centro» davanti né «estrema» dietro, che faccia della giustizia sociale, della parità dei diritti, dell'ambientalismo e della laicità i suoi tratti fondanti. Un partito che abbia anche una indispensabile collocazione europea, che non potrebbe non essere quella del PSE. Un partito che si candidi alla guida del Paese senza fare inutili giri di parole sulle alleanze né abbia paura di mettere sulla bilancia dell'azione politica la propria gloriosa identità. Una identità che, alla fine, è il megafono di chi è così emarginato da non avere voce e speranza.

Sinistra, ridiventa straccio e che il più povero ti sventoli.

SEL, the PD and the dream of an European left wing

These days there's been a lot of talk about the probable future fusion of SEL and PD.

The first want to reopen the game definitely, creating that political box that can mix the leftwing identity and the indispensable governmental vocation, which allows the political activity to be more than a mere act of testimony; the latter, at least the part that is more on the left, feel more and more the need to get rid of that Renzi connected left, which is growing more and more uncomfortable at an ideologic and strategic level.

Because, let's not hide it: this country is how it is because during the last few years the left wing has been absent. The left wing that was there and that is here now, has always been divided between the fake reformist and the elitary, confused and irrilevant one, the so called "extreme left wing". The birth of SEL has broken this pattern and during these last two years and a half we've seen a real change: in cities like Milan, Cagliari, Rieti, Genua and in regions like Puglia, SEL has been capable to overthrow the great PD and elect as heads of these cities and that great region of the South one of its own administrators.

But, at the votes, the left wing has been cut down: the PD, which the polls gave at over 32%, found itself with 25%, the left outside the centerleft has disappeared entirely and SEL found out it's truly small: with 3% of votes (and the relative media space, almost nothing), you don't go very far and you can't manage, in spite of all the good will, to collect the consensus that is useful to the great changes this country needs. Same thing for PD: with such an uncertain and destabilizing nature, with a direction that is so shattered and often unreliable, you don't do the good of the left wing, nor the good of the country.

Useless to say that we're at the moment of choices, and the moment of courage is here. But it doesn't mean this change will come tomorrow: these processes require calm, patience, in depth reflexions that will avoid difficult to correct errors later. Problems that would definitely kill the last spark of hope that still remains towards the identity of the left. That's why we need to think about who we are, what we want to do and where we want to go.

La 25ª ora della politica

Fanculo.
Fanculo a come è diventata la politica italiana, che ha paura anche della propria ombra, talmente propensa a fare di tutto per non perdere voti, che trova sempre un modo nuovo per non far nulla.

Fanculo al PD, che porta decine di parlamentari giovani, se ne prende il merito, quando il merito è della pressione esterna al PD, e poi li tiene lì, carini e ornamentali, come i nipotini a una noiosa riunione di famiglia. Fanculo a un apparato che ha più correnti dell'oceano ma meno plancton.

Fanculo a SEL, perché da un partito di sinistra mi aspetto innanzitutto che spariscano cognomi dal simbolo, e poi perché da un partito di sinistra mi aspetto più piazza e meno media, è così che si prendono voti a sinistra, e non sapete fare altro che perderli.

Fanculo a Berlusconi e a tutta la sua depandance del PDL, zeppa di cameriere e maggiordomi più o meno graduati, pronti a sbavare ad ogni scampanellìo del Signorotto, sottoprodotti del godimento masturbatorio di potere di un Re Sòla che ha il solo interesse di arrivare alla tomba senza condanne, e magari con una statua da qualche parte.

Fanculo a Monti e alla sua Scelta Civica, che di civico ha solo il fatto di essere il centro anziani che continua a tenere in vita la Democrazia Cristiana, coccolando nel contempo i nipotini chirichetti sparsi negli altri schieramenti. Un tecnico, finito il suo tempo, fattura e se ne va.

Fanculo a Grillo, che con la sua concezione teatrale della politica tarpa le ali al cambiamento, sei solo l'ultima delle cariatidi che dovranno essere messe da parte, e quando lo capiranno al M5S sarà troppo tardi, mentre il leader, nervoso, si fuma un pacchetto di dissidenti al giorno.

Fanculo al M5S, che poteva essere una risorsa per il paese, mentre ha deciso di essere la compagnia teatrale di Grillo, così appiattiti sull'assolutismo del copione scritto da un saltimbanco, da arrivare a bruciare idee, ponti e persone. Cominciate a fare politica con la vostra testa, invece di continuare a giocare alla Santa Inquisizione del Media Evo.

Fanculo ai giovani parlamentari di tutti gli schieramenti. Siete abbastanza per formare un gruppo trasversale e incontrarvi per cercare quelle cose che sicuramente tutti avete in comune, ma che il leaderismo vi costringe a soffocare in gola. Siete abbastanza per fare fronte comune e costringere le Assemblee Parlamentari a darvi retta. Siete nuovi, fate nascere anche strategie nuove. Altrimenti vi ritroverete come quegli anziani che vi esibiscono orgogliosi come si fa col nipotino secchione, e non ve ne renderete neanche conto.

Fanculo ai giornalisti, che non producono più notizie, ma producono meme. Che fanno di un gesuita un francescano, di un gruppo di parlamentari funzionali alla crisi, un consesso di "saggi", di un tizio che ha un network di siti obsoleti, poco navigabili e per nulla usabili e che ha avuto il solo merito agenziale di aver fatto aprire il blog a un comico già molto famoso, un "guru del web" (vi insegno una cosa sul web, giornalisti: sei un guru se "fai" il web o lo porti verso qualcosa di nuovo che tutti possono usare, sono dei "guru" persone delle quali conoscete a malapena il nome o non lo conoscete affatto. Se amplifichi il tuo network tramite una serie di link incrociati su un singolo blog molto famoso, sei uno che sfrutta bene il proprio orticello web, non sei un "guru". Sei un bravo commerciale.). Per la potabilità e la linkabilità di una notizia siete disposti a sacrificarne tutti gli aspetti che fanno di una notizia un'informazione.

E poi fanculo a me, che continuo ad arrovellarmi il planetario su tutto questo, come tutti, e che alimento la guerra tra poveri interconnessi tipica di questi tempi.

The 25 th hour of politics

Fuck it.

Fuck how Italian politics has become, fearful of its own shadow, so incline to do anything in order to not lose votes, it always finds a way of doing nothing.

Fuck the PD, which brought dozens of young members of Parliament, takes the merit for it, when the merit is of the outside pressure on the PD, and then just keeps them there, nice and ornamental, like grandkids at a boring family reunion. Fuck an apparatus that has more currents than the ocean but less plancton.

Fuck SEL, because from a left wing party I expect first of all that surnames disappear from the symbol, and then because from a left wing party I expect more fieldwork and less media, that's how you get the left wing votes, and you don't know what to do but lose them.

Fuck Berlusconi and all his PDL depandance, filled with maids and butlers more or less graduated, ready to drool at the first sign of their Lord, underproducts of the masturbatory pleasure of power of a king whose only interest is to get to his grave uncondemned, and maybe with some statue somewhere.

Fuck Monti and his Civic Choice, the only thing that's civic about it is the fact that it's the nursing home still keeping Christian Democracy alive, caressing in the meanwhile the grandchildren in the other wings. A technician, once his time is done, gets paid and leaves.

Fuck Grillo, who with his theatrical conception of politics kills change, you're just the last of the monsters we'll have to put aside, and when the M5S will understand it will be too late, while the leader - nervous - smokes a packet of dissidents a day.

Fuck M5S, which could have been a resource for this country, but has decided to be Grillo's theatre company, so dull in the absolutism of the script written by a comedian, to even arrive at burning ideas, bridges and people. Start doing politics with your own heads, instead of continuing to play the Sacred Inquisition of the Media Ages.

Fuck young member of Parliament of all political parts. You're enough to form a transversal group and mett in order to look for those things you all have in common, but that leaderism forces you to suffocate. You're new, create new strategies. Otherwise you'll end up like those old proud politicians who show you off as they would do with a grandson, and you won't even notice.

Fuck journalists, who don't produce news anymore, but produce memes. Who turn a gesuit in a francescan, a group of Parliamentaries functional to the crisis, a group of "wise men", of a man with a network of old website, not user friendly at all, and who had the only merit of making an already very famous comedian open a blog, a "guru" of the web (I'll teach you something about the web, you journalists: the "gurus" are people you hardly know the names of. If you amplify your network thanks to a series of crosslinks on a very famous blog, you're someone who can exploit their own web garden, not a "guru". You're a good seller.) For the linkability of a news you're ready to sacrifice all the aspects that make a piece of news an information.

And fuck me, who make up my rassoodock with all this, like everyone, and feed the war between poor interconnected people, typical of these times.

#Comizidamore: #PapaFrancesco, la politica e la laicità, questa sconosciuta...

La settimana è stata segnata da infiniti colloqui istituzionali, dalle continue gaffes grilline e...dalle azioni sempre più sorprendenti del nuovo Pontefice.

Premessa doverosa: non sono credente, ma agnostico. Le confessioni religiose non suscitano in me particolare interesse, ma curiosità. Credo ci sia qualcosa di buono da imparare da ogni religione.

Fatta questa premessa, è indubbio che il nuovo Pontefice brilli in sobrietà, un termine spesso violato del suo significato positivo e sconosciuto dalle parti del Vaticano. Papa Francesco sembra avere anche altre due qualità sprovviste al suo predecessore: carisma e umanità. Almeno, dai primi gesti sembrano trasparire queste doti.

Ma voglio essere sincero: fino a quando non ascolterò da lui parole di rispetto verso la comunità omosessuale (i cittadini più invisi al Vaticano, fino ad oggi) preferisco non illudermi né tracciarne un profilo eccessivamente positivo. Non mi aspetto che, tutto ad un tratto, la Chiesa si apra. Né mi aspetto particolari aperture dal punto di vista dei diritti civili. Ma il rispetto sì, quello lo pretendo anche dalla Chiesa (e dalle altre confessioni religiose) pur non essendo credente.

Perché, vedete, a preoccuparmi non è tanto la Chiesa e le sue battaglie vetero-moraliste. A preoccuparmi è la politica italiana e la sua totale ipocrisia e incoerenza, la sua totale dipendenza dai diktat vaticani e quindi la sua storica mancanza di laicità. A destra come a sinistra.

Ma mentre la destra - i conservatori, dunque - ha come obiettivo principale il mantenimento dello status quo, e quindi il suo atteggiamento chiuso e ottuso è arcinoto (anche se in Europa i conservatori spesso hanno idee, sui diritti civili, più a sinistra del centrosinistra italiano) la sinistra - i progressisti, quindi - dovrebbe seguire la stella polare del cambiamento radicale, dell'uguaglianza per tutti su tutto, dalle condizioni economiche a quelle dei diritti umani.

In Italia, abbiamo una sinistra che spesso si è moderata - sui diritti civili, per esempio - per paura di perdere voti "cattolici" o "moderati". Per paura di apparire invisa al clero e al potere vaticano. Abbiamo avuto, fino ad adesso, una sinistra...sinistra. Una sinistra senza coraggio e senza la benché minima volontà di apparire laica e indipendente dalla gelida mano vaticana che le tira la giacchetta un giorno sì e l'altro pure.

Certo, non mi va di fare di tutta erba un fascio. Perché, per esempio, Sel ha portato in Parlamento, con coraggio e determinazione (mantenendo, di fatto, la propria promessa elettorale) un tema "scottante" come i matrimoni e le adozioni gay. Stessa proposta presentata anche dal PD con Scalfarotto. Ma lo stesso PD (pagando la sua natura non ancora ben definita) su questioni come quelle dei diritti civili, spesso ha tergiversato, si è diviso ed ha confuso l'opinione pubblica. Passando agli altri: centrodestra totalmente assente su laicità e diritti civili; M5S spesso confuso, contraddittorio e poco credibile sul tema dei diritti civili e della laicità dello Stato.

Ecco che, dunque, al Paese è mancata una politica realmente seria, indipendente dal Vaticano e dunque LAICA. Una politica che non si lasciasse condizionare da precetti religiosi. Come dovrebbe essere secondo la nostra Costituzione. E allora, permettetemi di dire che più che prendermela con Papa Ratzinger, Papa Francesco e Papa Mario (ma da loro esigo rispetto), io me la prendo con una politica (soprattutto con la "mia" sinistra) senza dignità, indecentemente ed insensatamente paurosa, e che spesso ha usato una ipocrita doppia morale: immoralista nella vita privata e moralista nella vita pubblica (come spesso capita al ceto politico e culturale di centrodestra).

Quando la politica italiana deciderà di diventare realmente laica e la sinistra realmente progressista, potremo - finalmente - accogliere qualsiasi opinione del Pontefice con relativa serenità e distacco. Fino ad allora, dovremo sperare nell'apertura mentale vaticana per poter vedere effetti reali - sui temi etici - da parte della politica. E siamo nel 2013. D.C..

Pope Francis, politics and laicism, this unknown concept

The week has been signed by infinite institutional encounters, by the continuous Grillo fan gaffes and... by the surprising actions of the new Pope.

An obliged premise: I'm not a believeer, but an agnostic. Religious confessions don't interest me, but they do make me curious. I think there's something good to learn from every religion.

This being said, undoubtedly the new Pope shines with sobriety, a term way too often violated of its positive meaning and unknown at the Vatican. Pope Francis seems to also have two other qualities which his predecessor lacked: charisma and humanity. At least, from his first actions these qualities seem to come through.

But I do want to be honest: until I hear from him words of respect towards the gay community (the most unpleasant citizens for the Vatican, until today), I prefer not to form illusions or make an excessively positive portrait of him. I don't expect, all of the sudden, for the Church to open up. Nor do I expect particular openings from the point of view of civil rights. But respect yes, I want that from the Church (and the other religious confessions) even though I'm not a believer.

Because, you see, I'm not that worried by the Church and its vetero-moralist battles. It's the Italian politics and its total hypocrisy and incoherence that worries me, its total dependence to Vatican diktats and its historical lack of laicism. In the right wing as in the left wing.

But while the right - the conservatives - has as its main goal to maintain the status quo, and its closed and obtuse approach is quite well known (even though in Europe conservatives have ideas on civil rights that are more on the left than the Italian centerleft) the left - the progressives - sohuld follow the Northern Star of radical change, of equality for all on everything, from economical conditions to human rights.

In Italy, we have a left that has often moderated itself - on civil rights, for example - in fear of losing "catholic" or "moderate" votes. Afraid of appearing unpleasant to the Church and the Vatican power. We've had, until now, a left... left. A left without courage and without the slightest willingness of appearing laicist and independent from the cold Vatican hand that grabs its jacket almost every day.

Of course, I don't want to say it's all the same. Because, for example, SEL has brought to the Parliament, with courage and determination (maintaining, de facto, its electoral promise) a "hot" topic such as gay weddings and adoptions. The same proposal presented by PD with Scalfarotto as well. But the same PD (paying for its nature that is not yet well defined) on matters such as civil rights, has often shilly-shallied, divided itself and confused the public opinion. Let's see the others: center-right completely absent on laicism and civil rights; M5S often confused, contradictory and not very believable on the topic of civil rights and the laicism of the State.

So, the country has lacked a truly serious politics, independent from the Vatican and thus truly LAICIST. A politic that didn't let itself be conditioned by religious precepts. As it is supposed to be according to our Constitution. So allow me to say that more than being upset with Pope Ratzinger, Pope Francis or Pope Mario (but I do want respect from them), I'm upset with a politics (especially "my" left) without dignity, indecently and insanely fearful, and that has often used a hypocrite double morale: immoralist in private life and moralist in public life (as often is the case in the political and cultural class of center-right).

When the Italian politics will decide to become truly laicist and the left truly progressist, we will be - finally - able to receive any opinion of the Pope with relative serenity and detachment. Until then, we'll have to hope for a Vatican mental opening in order to see real effects - on the ethical topics - on behalf of our politics. And we are in 2013 A.D..

Da Pontida e dalla Bossi-Fini a Laura #Boldrini

Non sono mai stato tenero nei confronti di Sinistra Ecologia Libertà, pur avendone fatto parte per due anni.

Non ho mai risparmiato critiche o contestazioni verso il gruppo dirigente, non sempre aperto all'ascolto dei militanti e in alcuni casi miope e sordo alle domande di cambiamento (emblematiche le amministrative di Napoli). Tuttavia, va dato merito a Nichi Vendola, nonostante i limiti delle primarie per i parlamentari di Sel (il listino bloccato riservato ad alcuni dirigenti andava evitato), di aver portato in Parlamento una figura splendida e cristallina come Laura Boldrini. Una donna che, a costo di apparire retorico, ha speso gran parte della sua vita a difendere gli ultimi, i migranti e i rifugiati.

Su Il Messaggero di qualche giorno fa, vi è un aneddoto sulla nascita della sua candidatura come deputata. La Boldrini si trovava in Grecia, questa volta a soccorrere un uomo di colore malmenato, massacrato di botte da simpatizzanti di Alba Dorata, formazione politica neonazista. E' qui che riceve una telefonata da parte di Nichi Vendola, desideroso di offrirle un un posto nelle liste di Sel. Il governatore pugliese, tuttavia, non riesce quasi a proferire parola (il che è tutto dire) perché lei, terribilmente presa da quella vicenda, lo sommerge al telefono per dieci minuti, raccontandogli minuziosamente l'accaduto e le sue sensazioni. Solo poi un: «Ah, scusa Nichi, volevi dirmi qualcosa?».

Nella sua nomina e nel suo discorso vi è stata una rottura totale con il passato: una rottura nei modi di fare e d'intendere la politica, nello stile e nel linguaggio. Non più uomini di partito, non più la vecchia nomenclatura, non più le Finocchiaro o i Franceschini (i nomi più caldeggiati fino a due giorni fa; la presenza del M5S ha sicuramente influito sul cambio di rotta), non più personaggi estraniati dal mondo che mai hanno conosciuto il dolore sociale, ma una rappresentante del mondo associazionistico e del volontariato, lontana da tutto ciò che potrebbe essere definito come «casta», continuamente impegnata in missioni umanitarie in Paesi come Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Caucaso, Angola e Ruanda, che le hanno permesso di vivere in prima persona la povertà, la sofferenza, le difficoltà di ognuno.

Non più i bunga-bunga, non più gli insulti contro la Magistratura, non più le offese di stampo razzista contro i migranti. No, non più. Non più i «Non vorrei mai fra cinque anni e un mese trovarmi un presidente abbronzato», «In un paese civile non si può fare votare dei bingo-bongo che fino a qualche anno fa stavano ancora sugli alberi», «Tornino giù nel deserto a parlare con i cammelli o nella giungla con le scimmie» di Calderoli, i «Pensate se ai nostri nonni avessero raccontato che noi ci lasciamo togliere i canti natalizi da una banda di cornuti islamici di merda», «Noi ai clandestini bastardi gli diamo il mille per mille di calci in culo con la legge Bossi-Fini» di Borghezio, non più i diti medi di Bossi, ma la parola «diritti» (la più pronunciata, ben sette volte, eccetto i termini comuni del nostro vocabolario), la bellezza del linguaggio, la sensibilità, l'ascolto, la persona nella sua essenza e nella sua sofferenza al centro dell'agire politico.

«Farò in modo che questa istituzione sia anche il luogo di cittadinanza di chi ha più bisogno. […] Dovremo impegnarci tutti a restituire piena dignità a ogni diritto. Dovremo ingaggiare una battaglia vera contro la povertà, e non contro i poveri. […] Dovremo farci carico dell’umiliazione delle donne che subiscono violenza travestita da amore. […] Dovremo stare accanto a chi è caduto senza trovare la forza o l’aiuto per rialzarsi, ai tanti detenuti che oggi vivono in una condizione disumana e degradante. […] Dovremo imparare a capire il mondo con lo sguardo aperto di chi arriva da lontano, con l’intensità e lo stupore di un bambino, con la ricchezza interiore e inesplorata di un disabile. […] La politica deve tornare ad essere una speranza, un servizio, una passione».

Dopo anni di rutti provenienti da Pontida, ne avevamo davvero bisogno.

From Pontida to Laura Boldrini

I've never been kind with SEL, even though I've been a part of it for two years.

I've never saved critics or contestations towards the direction group, not always open to listening the activists and in some cases deaf and blind to the requests of change (an example of which are the administrative elections in Naples). However, we must give credit to Nichi Vendola, in spite of the limitations of the primaries for SEL's MPs (the blocked list reserved to a few directors should have been avoided), of bringing to Parliament a brilliant and transparent figure such as Laura Boldrini. A woman who, even if I might seem rhetorical, has spent a great deal of her life defending the refugees, the last ones.

On Il Messaggero, there's an anecdote on the birth of her candidacy as a member of Parliament. Boldrini was in Greece, this time helping out a black man who had been massacred by Golden Dawn members, a neonazi political formation. It was there that she got the phone call from Nichi Vendola, who wanted to offer her a place in SEL's lists. The Puglia governor, however, almost couldn't say a word because she was so shocked by that story, that she kept him on the phone for ten minutes, accurately telling him about what had happened and her sensations. And then: "Oh, sorry Nichi, did you want to tell me something?".

In her nomination and her speech there was a total break with the past: a fracture in the ways of doing and intending politics, in style and language. No party people anymore, no old names, no more Finocchiaro or Franceschini (the names that were circulating until a couple of days ago: the presence of M5S has surely had an influence on the change of trajectory), no more people outside the world who have never known social pain, but a representative of the world of associations and not for profit organizations, away from what might be defined as a caste, continuously working in humanitary missions in countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Caucasian area, Angola and Rwanda, which have allowed her to live first hand poverty, suffering, and everyone's difficulties.

No more bunga bunga, no more insults against the Law, no more racist slurs against immigrants. No, not anymore. No more "I wouldn't want to see a tanned president in 5 years and a month", "In a civil country you can't let some bingo-bongos who just got down the trees actually vote", "Let them go back to the desert to talk with cammels, or in the jungle with the monkeys", all words by Calderoli, the "Just think if we told our grandparents that we them take Christmas carols away because of a band of damned islamic people", "We're going to kick the illegal immigrants butts one thousand times with the Bossi-Fini law" by Borghezio, no more middle fingers by Bossi, but the word "rights" (the most pronounces, seven times, except for the common terms of our vocabulary), the beauty of language, the sensibility, listening, the person in her essence and the suffering at the center of the political action.

La Sinistra torna in #Parlamento (ma nessuno ne parla)

Mentre i grandi media s'affannano a rincorrere apriscatole e altre perversioni fanatiche grilline; ad osservare le facce tristi dei montiani, la Santanché che arriva in bicicletta a Montecitorio e il baciamano di Casini alla Finocchiaro, è passato sotto silenzio il ritorno della sinistra in Parlamento.

Ebbene sì, con i 45 parlamentari di Sinistra Ecologia Libertà, tante istanze - dai diritti lgbtq alla tutela dell'ambiente, passando per il reddito minimo garantito - ora possono trovare voce nel luogo per eccellenza della nostra democrazia: il Parlamento.

Queste sono le prime 8 proposte di legge depositate oggi da Sinistra Ecologia Libertà nel suo primo giorno di vita parlamentare:

- Legge per riconoscimento della cittadinanza ai bimbi stranieri nati in Italia.
- Legge contro le dimissioni in bianco.
- Legge per la ripubblicizzazione del sistema idrico integrato.
- Legge sull'agricoltura sociale.
- Legge per i matrimoni gay.
- Legge per la tutela del paessaggio e la bellezza del territorio.
- Legge anticorruzione per la modifica art.416 ter codice penale.
- Legge che istituisca anche in Italia il reddito minimo garantito. *

* Il reddito minimo garantito si differenzia dal reddito di cittadinanza (proposto dal M5S) perché il reddito di cittadinanza prevede il pagamento di un reddito prestabilito (1000 euro, secondo le promesse di Grillo) a tutti i cittadini, aldilà se abbiano un impiego o meno. Come capirete, sarebbe molto costoso e quindi improponibile sotto ogni punto di vista (secondo alcuni economisti ci costerebbe 20 punti di PIL!). Il reddito minimo garantito, invece, è uno strumento sociale presente in tutti i Paesi UE (tranne Italia, Grecia e Polonia) che permette, a chi non ha un'occupazione, di avere una soglia minima di reddito (secondo la proposta di SEL, che riprende quella di TILT, la soglia minima sarebbe di 600 euro). SEL ha raccolto le firme per questa proposta di legge, eppure - sui media - è passata l'idea che a fare una proposta del genere fosse stato solo Grillo (che invece parla d'altro e non di reddito minimo garantito). Una evidente stortura del nostro sistema d'informazione, sempre pronto a salire sul carro del vincitore più che interessato a scovare e rendere visibile verità e meriti non sempre visibili ad occhio nudo.

Quelle 8 proposte sopra sono un sogno? No, ma qualcosa che gli si avvicina: la sinistra. Una sinistra degna di tale nome che, tentando di coniugare identità e necessaria esperienza di governo, si è guadagnata l'accesso alle Aule parlamentari. Eppure di tutto questo, sui grandi media, non se ne sente parlare. Interi servizi dei telegiornali o dei talk-show politici interamente dedicati ai "fantastici" grillini, paladini del bene, e neanche un servizio per rendere onore a personaggi come Laura Boldrini, Giorgio Airaudo, Giulio Marcon e tanti/e altri/e eletti di Sel, l'unica formazione di sinistra presente in Parlamento. Sia chiaro, comprendo che il fenomeno grillino sia l'argomento del momento, ma credo che alla fine - una informazione all'altezza - debba concentrarsi di più su proposte e contenuti, più che su polemiche e voyeurismi deprecabili.

In ogni caso, faccio notare che mentre c'è chi si occupa di rimborsi elettorali (i costi della politica vanno comunque ridotti e regolamentati; ma corruzione, evasione e criminalità organizzata sono le vere metastasi del Paese) e dei bicchieri da etichettare col proprio nome, c'è qualcuno - come i parlamentari di SEL - che si concentrano sulla carne viva dei problemi che attanagliano questo Paese. Perché la politica (e quindi il Paese) non può che sopravvivere così. E per fortuna c'è chi, ogni giorno, ci dimostra che no, non sono "tutti uguali". Forse se l'informazione fosse meno infatuata dai fenomeni di turno e più equilibrata, se ne accorgerebbero un po' tutti...

The Left is back in the Parliament (but nobody talks about it)

As the media hassle trying to find can openers and other Grillo fanatic perversions; seeing the sad faces of the Monti followers, Santanché arriving with a bike at Montecitorio and Casini's hand kissing to Finocchiaro, the return of the Left in the Parliament has gone silent. Well yes, with the 45 parliamentaries of SEL, many instances - from the LGBTQ rights to preservation of the environment, passing throught the minimum guaranteed income - now can find a voice in the place for excellence of our democracy: the Parliament.

These are the first 8 law proposals deposited a few days ago by SEL in its first day of parliamentary life:

- Law for the recognition of citizenship to foreign children born in Italy.
- Law against blank resignations.
- Law for social agriculture.
- Law for gay marriage.
- Law for the preservation of the landscape and the beauty of the territory
- Law against corruption for the change of the art. 416 of the penal code.
- Law that institutes in Italy the minimum guaranteed income*.

*The minimum guaranteed income is different from the citizenship income (proposed by M5S) because the latter means the payment of a pre-established income (1000 euro, according to Grillo's promises) to all citizens, regardless of whether they have a job or not. As you can imagine, it would be extremely expensive and impossible under all points of view, as some economists estimate it would cost us about 20 points of GDP!). The guaranteed minimum income, on the contrary, is a social tool present in all EU countries (except for Italy, Greece and Poland), which allows to those who don't have a job to have a minimum income (according to SEL, who gets inspiration from that of TILT, the minimum amount would be 600 euro). SEL  has gathered the signatures for this law proposal, and yet - on the media - journalists have passed the idea that only Grillo made such a proposal (who actually is talking about something else, not the minimum guaranteed income). An evident distortion of our information system, always ready to get on the winner's side, more than being interested in finding and making truth and merits that are not always visible with the naked eye, evident for all to see.

Are those 8 proposals above a dream? No, but something that goes near: the Left. A left that is worthy of the name, and that - trying to put together identity and necessary government experience - has earned the access to the parliamentary rooms. And yet of all of this, on the big media, you don't hear a word. Whole services of TGs or political talk shows entirely dedicated to the fantastic Grillo followers, bearers of good, and not even one service to honor people like Laura Boldrini, Giorgio Airaudo, Giulio Marcon and many other elected in SEL, the only left wing formation present in the Parliament. Let it be clear, I understand that the Grillo phenomenon is the topic of the moment, but I think that in the end - an information that is worthy of the name - must concentrate on more proposals and contents, more than despicable voyeurisms and discussions.

Anyhow, I'd like to point out that while there is someone who deals with elections refunds (the costs of politics must be reduced and regulated; but corruption, tax evasion and organized crime are the true plagues of our country) and of the plastic cups to label with their names, there is someone - like SEL parliamentaries - who concentrate on the living flesh of the problems that anguish the country. Because politics - and thus the country - can only survive this way. And fortunately there is someone who, every day, proves that no, they aren't all the same. Perhaps if information was less infatuated by the daily phenomenons and more balanced, more people would actually notice...

#Comizidamore: Laura Boldrini e Piero Grasso, quanto è splendida questa Italia!

Io, confesso, vedevo nero. Già me l'immaginavo questa maledetta giornata di sabato: i soliti nomi vecchi e sempre onnipresenti; accordi sottobanco, polemiche, attacchi, divisioni...insomma, ero pronto all'ennesimo bagno di sangue.

Invece no. Invece è accaduto il miracolo: la buona politica ha preso il sopravvento in questo sciagurato Paese. Almeno una volta. Almeno oggi ! (ieri ndr). Già immaginavo le urla dei grillini che sbraitavano contro la "Kasta" indegna che si autoconserva; i berlusconiani esultanti per la fine vicina della appena natia legislatura; I quotidiani (ad eccezione di qualcuno) prospettare disastri immani e i mille errori/difetti del centrosinistra. Invece no: Laura Boldrini e Piero Grasso. La prima, Presidente della Camera; il secondo, Presidente del Senato. Ed ecco che tutto si capovolge con i berlusconiani isolati a schiumare rabbia con i leghisti e i grillini disorientati, divisi e - addirittura - lacrimanti nelle stanze del Senato in preda al panico delle responsabilità da assumersi sul voto a Schifani o Grasso.

Che sensazione bellissima guardare Laura commuovere la Camera e pensare a lei quando combatteva le bombe e la povertà in Kosovo, Angola, Afghanistan..e che sollievo vedere Piero Grasso spuntarla su Schifani, un berlusconiano con tutti gli annessi e i connessi riguardanti un concetto di (il)legalità distante anni luce anche da quello delle destre europee. E poi, diciamoci la verità, chi se lo aspettava?!? Io, no di certo.

Quello che emerge con forza da questo fine settimana politico è la chiara e netta vittoria del duo Bersani-Vendola che, con una mossa imprevedibile, hanno piazzato due ottime figure alla seconda e terza carica dello Stato, isolato Berlusconi e disorientato i grillini, dimostrando loro che i valori dell'onestà non sono una esclusiva del M5S.

Ma oltre ai meriti del centrosinistra, che ha avuto il coraggio di cambiare, c'è da sottolineare che - dopo tempo - questo Paese ritorna a respirare aria pulita quando parla di politica. Perché l'aver eletto due rappresentanti così forti e rispettabili è un vanto ed un merito per tutta la classe politica, aldilà degli schieramenti. Che finalmente dà una immagine di sé, all'esterno, migliore di come lo sia stata fino ad adesso. Non so voi, ma dopo tempo mi sono sentito profondamente orgoglioso di essere italiano.

Ora verranno giorni più difficili e duri. E non sappiamo se potremo godere di nuovo di questo clima politico così gradevole. Non ci resta che sperare e respirare a pieni polmoni questa anticipazione di primavera politica tanto agognata. Almeno finché dura.

Laura Boldrini and Piero Grasso, how wonderful this country is!

I confess, I wasn't optimistical about this. I already imagined this terrible Saturday: the usual old names and always there. Underground agreements, controversies, attacks, divisions... so I was ready for a bloodbath.

But no. The miracle happened: the good politics has taken over in this wretched country. At least once. At least today! (well, yesterday). I already imagined the shouts of the Grillo fans who shouted against the unworthy "caste" that tries to keep itself; the exultant Berlusconians for the nearby end of the newborn legislature; the newspapers (except someone) prospecting huge disasters and the thousand errors/defects of the centerleft wing. And yet no: Laura Boldrini and Piero Grasso. The first, President of the Chamber; the second, President of the Senate. And there you see everything turning upside down with the isolated Berlusconian furious with the Lega Nord members and the disoriented M5S members, divided and in tears in the chambers of the Senate, panicked because of the responsibility to take on the vote between Schifani and Grasso.

What a great feeling to see Laura touch the Chamber and think about her when she fought bomb and poverty in Kosovo, Angola, Afghanistan... and what a relief to see Piero Grasso win on Schifano, a Berlusconian with all the implications regarding a concept of (il)legality light years away even from the European right wings. And let's be honest: who would have expected it? I surely didn't.

What really emerges strongly from this political weekend is a clear and net victory of the duo Bersani - Vendola, who - with an unpredictable move - have placed two great figures as the second and third charge of the State, have isolated Berlusconi and disoriented the M5S members, proving that the values of honesty aren't exclusive to the 5 Star Movement.

But beyond the merits of the centerleft wing, which has had the courage to change, we should also stress that - after a long time - this country is breathing clean air again when talking about politics. Because choosing two representatives that are so strong and respectable is a pride and a merit for the entire political class, and goes beyond parties. It finally shows an image of itself, to the outside, better than what it has been until now. I don't know about you, but after a long time, I felt truly and deeply proud of being an Italian.

Now the most difficult and hard days are coming. And we don't know whether we'll be able to enjoy this extremely pleasant political climate again. We can only hope and breath in this anticipation of political spring that we've been waiting for so long. At least until it lasts.

#Elezioni2013: il voto utile

A circa un mese dal voto la campagna elettorale ci ha regalato due ritorni di cui, personalmente, non sentivo la mancanza. Il primo, il più evidente, è quello del Berlusconi formato 16:9. Secondo un calcolo pubblicato da La Stampa qualche giorno fa, dalle vacanze natalizie alla settimana scorsa Berlusconi è stato in onda per 63 ore, superando di poco il premier Monti e surclassando nettamente Bersani.

L’ennesima ridiscesa in campo che questa volta ha come obiettivo dichiarato “rendere ingovernabile il Paese”, come ha dichiarato lo stesso Berlusconi. Un senso di responsabilità direttamente proporzionale alla sua statura.

Il secondo ritorno, questa volta tutto nel campo del centrosinistra, è quello del “voto utile”. Pare infatti che ci siano stati dei contatti tra il Pd e Ingroia per trovare un patto di desistenza (così è stato chiamato) in Lombardia, Veneto, Campania e Sicilia per quel che riguarda le liste del Senato.     

Il quadro mi sembra abbastanza semplice. Pd e Sel sono gli unici che in queste elezioni corrono per vincere. Gli altri corrono o per rappresentare una parte (vedi centrodestra), o per dar voce a tutti i mal di pancia d’Italia (vedi Grillo) o per tentare di essere determinanti nella composizione della futura maggioranza parlamentare (vedi l’area Monti). Non si è ancora capito invece perché corre Ingroia. La sua idea iniziale, quella di dar rappresentanza parlamentare ai movimenti, alle associazioni e a tutta una serie di soggetti civici spesso ai margini della politica “ufficiale”, aveva una logica, una dignità politica ma soprattutto credo sarebbe stata vincente anche a livello elettorale.

Peccato però che nel giro di poche settimane gli ispiratori di questo cartello elettorale siano stati messi in disparte dai vari Di Pietro, Ferrero, Diliberto e compagnia, trasformando Rivoluzione Civile in un’accozzaglia di trombati da far rimpiangere la defunta “Sinistra Arcobaleno”. L’unico obiettivo rimasto all’ex magistrato di Palermo è quello di rompere le scatole a Bersani e Vendola, sperando in Campania e in Sicilia di rosicare un numero di voti tale per cui in Senato non ci sia alcuna maggioranza. La stessa tattica utilizzata da Berlusconi che ha recuperato la Lega Nord per recuperare qualche voto in Lombardia e in Veneto.

Ora, qui non c’è patto di desistenza o appello al voto utile che tenga. Sarebbe un errore farsi prendere dal panico e mandare in soffitta tutto il lavoro fatto fino ad oggi, mettendo in primo piano soltanto la tattica o i numeri che alla fine non tornano mai.

Qui c’è soltanto da far capire agli elettori che, con tutti i difetti e anche alcune contraddizioni, soltanto Pd e Sel possono garantire un governo serio e stabile. Ad oggi, soltanto la colazione Italia Bene Comune può impegnarsi per garantire più equità e attenzione verso chi le tasse le paga e più rigore nei confronti di chi evade o esporta capitali all’estero, più diritti civili per chi non ne ha, più giustizia sociale e uguaglianza nel mondo del lavoro. E poi più politiche verdi, più banda larga, più innovazione tecnologica, più rinnovamento generazionale, più legalità, ecc, ecc.
Nessun voto utile. Al massimo, un voto responsabile.

Chi vuol far parte di questa idea di Italia può scegliere il Pd o Sel, sperando in un buon risultato che consenta alla coalizione di governare senza essere sotto ricatto, consapevole del fatto che non sarà una passeggiata. Chi farà altre scelte, probabilmente, è contento di quel che c’è.

The useful vote

About a month away from the vote, the elections campaign has given us two revivals I personally didn't miss. The first, the most obvious, is the Berlusconi 16:9. According to the calculations of La Stampa a few days ago, from the Christmas vacations until last week, Berlusconi has been on air for 63 hours, a little more than Monti and a lot more than Bersani.

Yet another descent on the field that this time has the declared goal of "making the country impossible to rule", as Berlusconi himself has states. A sense of responsibility directly proportional to his height.

The second return, this time in the field of center-left, is of the "useful vote". It seems that there have been contacts between PD and Ingroia in order to find an agreement in Lombardia, Veneto, Campania and Sicily regarding the lists at the Senate.

The picture seems pretty simple to me. PD and SEL are the only ones that in these elections are running to win. The others run either to represent a part (center right), or to give voice to all the insatisfactions of Italy (Grillo), or to try to be determinant in the composition of the future Parliament majority (Monti). It's still unclear why Ingroia is running. His initial idea, to give Parliament representance to movements, to associations and to a whole series of civic sobjects that are often at the sides of official politics, had a logic, a political dignity but most of all I thought it would be a winner at an elections level.

Too bad that in a matter of weeks the inspirators of this elections cartel have been set aside by the various Di Pietro, Ferrero, Diliberto and company, transforming Civil Revolution in a group of weirdos that would make you miss the disappeared "Sinistra Arcobaleno". The only goal remained to the ex judge of Palermo is to break the balls to Bersani and Vendola, hoping that in Campania and Sicily they will get enough votes so there will be no majority at the Senate. The same tactic used by Berlusconi who has recovered the Northern League in order to get some votes in Lombardia and Veneto.

Now, there's no agreement or appeal for a useful vote that will work here. It would be a mistake to panic and throw away all the work done so far by only showing the tactic or the numbers that never truly work out.

Here we can only make the voters understand that, with all the defects and also some contradictions, only PD and SEL can guarantee a serious and stable government. Today, only the Italia Bene Comune coalition can guarantee more equity and attention towards who pays taxes and more severity towards who doesn't, or directs capitals abroad, more civil rights for who hasn't got any, more social justice and equality in the labor market. And then green politics, broadband, technological innovation, more generational rechange, more law enforcement, and so on. No useful vote. A responsible vote.

Who wants to be a part of this idea of Italy can choose PD or SEL, hoping in a good result that will allow the coalition to govern without being blackmailed, aware of the fact that it will be no piece of cake. Whoever chooses otherwise is probably content with the current situation.

In queste ultime settimane abbiamo portato avanti un'attività che, per certi versi, può essere descritta come un tentativo di partecipazione alla vita pubblica in modo completamente nuovo.

Abbiamo raccolto e pubblicato domande dei nostri lettori per Matteo Renzi, Nichi Vendola e Pierluigi Bersani. Contrariamente a tutte le aspettative, la partecipazione è stata ingente, portando alla raccolta, nel primo caso, quello di Matteo Renzi, di ben 50 domande diverse.

Matteo Renzi, le 50 domande dei lettori e la sua non risposta

Come descritto dettagliatamente nel post "La (non) risposta di Matteo Renzi alle 50 domande dei lettori", purtroppo le domande sono rimaste senza risposta. Sapevamo che 50 domande erano molte, e rispondere punto per punto in piena campagna elettorale sarebbe stato molto difficile, ma quando lo staff ha risposto dicendo che ci stavano già lavorando, e addirittura Matteo Renzi stesso ha promesso pubblicamente che ci avrebbero fatti avere entro l'indomani tutte le risposte, siamo rimasti molto piacevolmente colpiti.

Uno stupore destinato a durare poco, in quanto le promesse non sono state mantenute e l'impegno non è stato rispettato, lasciandoci solo con il suggerimento di andare a vedere il sito, in quanto avremmo trovato lì le risposte. Dopo 15 giorni di attesa e promesse, ci si aspettava - a ragione - qualcosa di più, anche perché in realtà nel programma la stragrande maggioranza delle domande da noi raccolte non trova risposta, e anche se la trova, è in via del tutto marginale.

Per quanto riguarda Matteo Renzi, siamo tutt'ora in attesa di un riscontro puntuale, come da suo impegno, rispetto alle 50 domande.

Il 21 Novembre abbiamo pubblicato le domande raccolte per il Governatore della Puglia Nichi Vendola, il cui staff ci ha subito chiesto una trascrizione per facilitarlo nelle risposte. Quindi, dopo soli due giorni, ci sono state inviate le risposte che trovate di seguito. 40 risposte per 40 domande raccolte sui social media dai lettori, una prova di grande sensibilità nei confronti dei temi legati alle nuove tecnologie e alle nuove possibilità di partecipazione attiva alla vita pubblica.

Il 28 Novembre abbiamo pubblicato le domande raccolte sui social media per l'attuale segretario del PD, Pierluigi Bersani. Le risposte, anche in questo caso, sono arrivate nel giro di due giorni, e anche in questo caso puntuali rispetto alle 40 domande fatte. Potete leggerle qui:



Naturalmente l'obiettivo non è fare domande in vista delle primarie del centrosinistra, bensì per le elezioni politiche. Questa opportunità per fare domande ai politici in modo completamente nuovo, utilizzando degli strumenti di "uso quotidiano", ai quali la politica italiana si sta proprio in questo periodo avvicinando, è stata accolta con entusiasmo da coloro che hanno partecipato.

Non c'è dubbio sul fatto che si possa migliorare, ma una riflessione è necessaria: è evidente il desiderio di qualcosa di innovativo e diverso, per quel che concerne la partecipazione democratica alla vita pubblica, e questo desiderio dovrebbe poter trovare una soluzione in format e opportunità nuove, che possano realmente permettere di partecipare grazie  ai nuovi strumenti che i cittadini hanno a disposizione.

Cittadini che vivono la rete e la utilizzano tutti i giorni, e il cui voto ha un peso.

The answers (or not) of Matteo Renzi, Nichi Vendola and Pierluigi Bersani to the readers' questions

During these last few weeks we carried on an activity that, in some ways, can be described as an attempt to participate to public life in a completely new way.

We collected and published our readers' questions for Matteo Renzi, Nichi Vendola and Pierluigi Bersani. Against all the odds, the participation has been huge, leading to gather 50 questions for Matteo Renzi, who was the first.

Matteo Renzi

As we described in detail in the post "The non answer of Matteo Renzi to our readers' questions", the questions have remained without an answer. We knew that 50 questions are a lot, and answering during the campaign would have been difficult, but when the staff answered saying that they were already working on it, and Matteo Renzi himself promised publicly that they would give us everything in one day, we were very pleasantly surprised.

The surprise wouldn't last for long, since the promises haven't been kept, they simply suggested to go see the website. After 15 days of promises and waiting, we expected - with reason - something more, because the program doesn't really answer the questions, and in the cases it does, it's only marginal.

So, to sum it up, when it comes to Matteo Renzi, we're still waiting for an answer, as he promised, to the 50 questions.

Nichi Vendola

On November the 21st we published the questions collected for the Apulia Governor Nichi Vendola, whose staff asked us for the transcript in order to make it easier for him to answer. So after two days, they sent us the answers you can find above. 40 answers for 40 questions from social networks, a proof of great sensibility toward the topics related to new technologies and new possibilities of participation to public life.

Pierluigi Bersani

On November the 28th we published the questions for the current secretary of PD, Pierluigi Bersani. The answers arrived in about two days, you can read them above.

Of course, the goal aren't the primaries of center-left wing, but the political elections. This opportunity to ask questions to politicians in a completely new way, using daily use tools, which Italian politics is just starting to use now, has been greeted with enthusiasm by those who participated.

There's no doubt on the fact that we can get better at it, but we do need to think about a few things: it is obvious that there's a desire to do something new and different regarding democratic participation to public life, and this desire should find solution in some kind of format or new opportunity, that can allow a real participation to public life thanks to the new tools citizens have.

Citizens who live the web and use it every day, and whose vote has an importance.

Manca poco alla celebrazione del rito delle primarie del Pd: domenica, chi vorrà, potrà recarsi nelle sezioni e nei gazebo per scegliere il suo candidato premier ideale di questa alleanza API, SEL e PD.


In corsa c’è anche il governatore della regione Puglia Nichi Vendola per il quale abbiamo raccolto una serie di domande fatte dai lettori di Intervistato.com attraverso i nostri canali sui social network. Dopo Renzi arrivano le altre domande, stavolta tocca a Vendola e non ci fermeremo qui.

Nichi Vendola si è proposto come l’alternativa, come l’Oppure, non solo verso gli altri candidati, ma al modo in cui viene governata l’Italia. Vendola non ha mai nascosto la sua opposizione al governo dei tecnici, anzi, l’ha diffuso ovunque. Ha fatto una campagna per le primarie basata essenzialmente sulla sua persona (più degli altri), fisica, morale e intellettuale, non solo facendo del suo nome e del suo viso l’icona principale della campagna, diventando protagonista della campagna sui diritti civili arrivando alla dichiarazione “Mi voglio sposare”.

Vendola è un uomo di sinistra, un poeta, un omosessuale e un cattolico. Ha sempre rivendicato ogni componente della sua identità e questo va considerato un punto d’onore in uno scenario politico che del trasformismo ha fatto bandiera.

Ha anche esperienze importanti di governo territoriale con risultanti sopra la media. Poi c’è l’eloquio, importante, a volte addirittura troppo importante, più di lui. Questo, però, è un paese strano, a cui servono non solo slogan di lancio e punti forti di programma, ma anche una forte dose di mediazione, necessaria per rimettere insieme un paese che da puzzle si è trasformato in una scatola di Lego scompaginati.

Qui abbiamo raccolto una serie di domande su temi molto diversi, dai diritti alla politica industriale, dalla politica estera alla scuola, ma anche al taglio delle spese per la casta e delle spesa pubblica, che significa anche riduzione di personale. Quello che chiediamo a Vendola è di entrare con le mani dentro gli ingranaggi del motore Italia, perché se è ridotta come una vecchia Fiat allora c’è molto da lavorare.

40 questions for Nichi Vendola

Not much left before the celebration of the primary ritual of the PD: on Sunday, those who want to vote can go in the dedicated sections to choose the ideal premier candidate for this API, SEL, PD allegiance.

Governor of Puglia Nichi Vendola is also a candidate, and we gathered a few questions from our readers via our social channels. After Renzi, here are the other questions, this time they're for Vendola, and we're not stopping here.

Nichi Vendola has proposed himself as the alternative, as the "OR", not only towards the other candidates, but to the way Italy is run. Vendola has never hidden his opposition to the technician government, on the contrary, he left everyone know. He's done a campaign for the primaries based essencially on his person (more than others), physical, moral and intellectual, not only making his name and face the main icon of the campaign, but also by becoming a protagonist of the civil rights campaign with the statement "I want to get married".

Vendola is a left-wing man, a poet, a homosexual and a Catholic. He has always claimed every component of his identity and this must be considered as a point of honor in a political scenario that has transformism as a banner. He also has important experiences of territorial government with results that are above average. And then there's the speech, important, sometimes too important, more than him.

This, however, is a strange country, which doesn't need just launch slogans and strong program points, but also a strong dose of mediation, necessary to put together a country that has turned from a puzzle to a messed up Lego box.

Here are a series of questions on various topics, from rights to industrial politics, from foreign affairs to school, but also the cut of expenses of the caste and of public waste, which also means a reduction of personnel. What we're asking Vendola is to put his hands in the Italy engine, because if it's messed up like an old FIAT then there's a lot of work to do. Who rules the country must do so without "ifs" and without "but", for rights and principles, but it is necessary to create allegiances, and we're not talking about parties: we're talking about components of this country, workers and entrepreneurs, autonomous and employees, catholics and laicists.
