Qualche giorno fa abbiamo avuto il piacere di intervistare Alessandro Bonino, autore di Spinoza.it e del blog "E io che mi pensavo", premiato come Miglior Blog Letterario ai Macchianera Blog Awards 2011.
Alessandro ha raccontato le origini di Spinoza, nato nel 2005 come uno spazio in cui trattare argomenti di attualità e guardare alla contemporaneità in maniera obliqua.
La svolta satirica imposta da Stefano Andreoli ha riscosso grande successo, portando gli utenti a lasciare molti commenti che di fatto erano delle battute, successivamente convogliate nel Forum Laboratorio Permanente di Satira.
Spinoza è diventato anche libro cartaceo, per la precisione due libri: uno bianco e uno nero, omaggio al White Album dei Beatles e al Black Album di Prince e Metallica.
Secondo Alessandro, i due libri di Spinoza sono paragonabili a un "almanacco di storia" del nostro Paese, un "esercizio di memoria postmoderno" che ripercorre, attraverso le battute, i fatti politici dal 2008 al 2011. [video]
Per quel che riguarda la nuova editoria, Alessandro ci ha descritto la situazione del mercato italiano, caratterizzato da due modalità di vendita dell'ebook in formato ePub.
La prima, adottata dalle grandi case editrici, è quella di proteggere l'ebook rendendo impossibile la visualizzazione del libro su dispositivi non autorizzati dal venditore; la seconda, adottata per esempio dalla casa editrice di Alessandro, Sugaman, è quella di mantenere l'ebook libero, aperto, apponendo sull'ebook solamente il nome dell'acquirente e la data in cui il libro è stato comprato. Oltre alla politica delle protezioni, c'è anche la politica del prezzo. Sembrerebbe che le case editrici vogliano soltanto avere la disponibilità di questo tipo di prodotto, ma che in realtà manchi la reale volontà di venderlo. [video]
Quando però Amazon arriverà in Italia con il suo ecosistema di ebook, offrendo il Kindle a un prezzo accessibile e cominciando a stipulare contratti direttamente con gli autori, le case editrici italiane rischieranno di rimanere effettivamente tagliate fuori.
A proposito di ebook, Alessandro ha specificato alcune delle caratteristiche più desiderabili in un ebook reader, la più importante delle quali è risultata essere uno schermo facilmente leggibile in qualsiasi condizione di luce. [video]
Abbiamo chiesto ad Alessandro come sarà, secondo lui, il libro del futuro: a suo avviso quei contenuti che possono essere esposti solamente in un libro ritroveranno la loro dimensione puramente testuale, invece tutto ciò che è finora è stato "libro" soltanto perché non aveva altre possibilità, troverà nuovi e sorprendenti mezzi di espressione. A few days ago we had the pleasure of interviewing Alessandro Bonino, founder of Spinoza.it and of the blog "E io che mi pensavo", which has been awarded the Best Literary Blog Prize at the Macchianera Blog Awards 2011.
Alessandro has told us about the origins of Spinoza, born in 2005 as a place in which to treat actuality topics and look at contemporary events in an oblique fashion.
The satirical turn imposed by Stefano Andreoli has had great success, bringing users to leave comments that were actually gags, which were subsequently directed to the Permanent Satire Laboratory Forum.
Spinoza has also become a physical book, actually two books: a white one and a black one, a tribute to the Beatles' White Album and Prince's and Metallica's Black Album.
In Alessandro's opinion, the two Spinoza books could be compared to a "history almanac" of our country, a "postmodern memory exercise" that goes over the political facts occurred between 2008 and 2011. [video]
As for new publishing, Alessandro has described the situation of the Italian market, characterized by two ways of selling the ebook in the ePub format.
The first one, adopted by big editors, is to protect the ebook making it impossible to read it on devices that aren't authorized by the seller; the second, adopted for example by Alessandro's publishing house, Sugaman, is to keep the ebook free and open, just adding to it the name of the buyer and the date in which the book was purchased. Sugaman was born from the collaboration with the writer Paolo Nori, especially from their discussion about the way Italian publishing houses were facing ebooks: very often ebooks have a price that is equal or superior to the price of the physical book.
Along with the protection politics, there are the price politics. It seems like the publishing houses only want to have this kind of product available in their catalogues, but they actually lack the will to sell it. [video]
But when Amazon will arrive in Italy with its ebook ecosystem, offering the Kindle at a fair price and starting to stipulate contracts directly with authors, the Italian publishing houses will really risk to be cut out.
Talking about ebooks, Alessandro has specified some of the most desirable characteristics of an ebook reader, and the most important seems to be a display that is easily readable in any light condition. [video]
We asked Alessandro how the book of the future will be: in his opinion the content that can only exist in a book will find its purely textual dimension, while everything that until now was a book only because it didn't have any other possibility, will find new and surprizing means to express itself.
