Terza ospite intercettata al Festival del Giornalismo per la serie Intervistato Journalism Festival è Concita De Gregorio, giornalista e scrittrice italiana ed ex direttrice del quotidiano L’Unità ora tornata a firmare su La Repubblica.


La prima domanda posta ha riguardato la fine del rapporto con L’Unità. Concita De Gregorio ha individuato la causa nell’impossibilità di portare avanti la linea di un giornale aperto, in grado di intercettare quelle richieste che venivano dal basso, il disagio e la rappresentanza di quel bacino di cittadini e lettori che non si riconoscevano in certi partiti politici. Linea definita demagogica e troppo vicina a certe aree dei movimenti e osteggiata dal centro sinistra, soprattutto nel PD.

Ha inoltre sottolineato il suo “ruolo di scouting” durante la sua direzione all’Unità che ha contribuito a lanciare svariate firme, da Francesca Fornario a Francesco Costa, passando per Marco Simoni e Francesco Piccolo. [video]

Sul ritorno a Repubblica Concita ha ricordato come il quotidiano sia stata la sua prima vera palestra formativa che, nonostante le sue varie esperienze anche in giro per il mondo, in Spagna per El Pais passando per l’Argentina con Clarin, rimane ancora il suo giornale di riferimento. [video]

Alla domanda sul ruolo dell’informazione nell’attuale crisi politica e partitica Concita De Gregorio risponde invece con la volontà del singolo giornalista di lasciarsi influenzare o meno da chi tiene in mano il “cordone della borsa”. [video]

Third guest that we managed to interview at the International Journalism Festival for the Intervistato Journalism Festival series is Concita De Gregorio, Italian journalist and writer, and also ex director of the newspaper L'Unità, who has now returned to write for Repubblica.

The first question regarded the end of her work at L'Unità. Concita De Gregorio has identified the cause in the impossibility of carrying on the line of an open newspaper, capable of receiving requests from the people, the problems and the representance of a large quantity of readers and citizens that didn't recognize themselves in certain political parties. A line that was defined as too demagogical and too near to certain areas of movements and no appreciated in the center-left wing, especially in the PD.

She also talked about her scouting role during the direction of L'Unità, that has contributed to launch several journalists, such as Francesca Fornario, Francesco Costa, Marco Simoni and Francesco Piccolo, just to name a few. [video]

On her return to Repubblica, Concita has reminded us how this newspaper had been her first real challenge, where she learned everything and that remains a milestone even though she has also worked in Spain for El Paìs and in Argentina with Clarin. [video]

When we asked something about the role of information in the current political and party crisis, Concita answered talking about the availability of any single journalist of letting himself be influenced or not by who pays him. [video]

Oggi intervisteremo Francesca Fornario, autrice satirica, videomaker e giornalista.

Francesca scrive per L'Unità, lavora per Radiodue (conduce il programma Un giorno da Pecora con Claudio Sabelli Fioretti e Giorgio Lauro) e per La7. Inoltre raccoglie i suoi video sul sito www.satira.tv 
Laureata in Scienze delle Comunicazioni, tra l'indirizzo in marketing e quello in giornalismo ha scelto il secondo, dopodiché si è trasferita a Milano dove ha lavorato per diverse testate. Negli ultimi anni è stata anche ospite regolare di Annozero.

Dopo aver disegnato il suo primo soggetto, ha capito che la cosa che più le piaceva fare era scrivere scene, come spiega in un'intervista rilasciata in occasione della vittoria del premio Giovani Sceneggiatori 2001 del suo "Il tempo di morire":

"Da anni ero certa di voler fare altro nella vita, quando ho scritto la prima scena ho capito cosa. Scrivere scene mi piace al punto che non so scrivere i soggetti. Ognuno ha una tecnica per scrivere i soggetti. Io scrivo prima le scene una dietro l'altra e poi faccio il riassunto, e quello è il soggetto. Un metodo funzionale come andare da Roma a Napoli passando per Parigi. Molti ottimi sceneggiatori nascono giornalisti, qualcuno - io no - era addirittura un ottimo giornalista. Dall'esterno si è portati a pensare che il passo sia breve, che sceneggiare equivalga a scrivere, a raccontare storie attraverso le parole. Per me non è così: sceneggiare è raccontare storie attraverso le immagini (e quindi, prima di tutto, immaginare), è, come dice Suso Cecchi d'Amico, "Scrivere con gli occhi". Suppongo che i più ci arrivino da soli ma per me è stata una specie di rivelazione, come quando ho capito che De Gregori ricantava certe canzoni che erano di Bob Dylan, e non viceversa."

Oggi avremo modo di chiacchierare con Francesca soprattutto a proposito del suo lavoro come giornalista e autrice satirica.

Today we're going to interview Francesca Fornario, satirical author, videomaker and journalist.

Francesca writes for L'Unità, works for Radiodue (she conducts the programme Un giorno da Pecora with Claudio Sabelli Fioretti and Giorgio Lauro) and for La7. She also publishes her videos on the website www.satira.tv.
With a degree in Communication Sciences, she has chosen journalism and moved to Milan, where she worked for several newspapers. During these last few years she has also been a regular guest at Annozero.

After drawing her first subject, she understood that what she liked doing most was writing scenes, as she explaines during an interview given after she won the prize Young Scenewriters 2001 with her "Il tempo di morire":

"For years I had been certain I wanted to do something else in my life, and when I wrote the first scene I understood what. I like writing scenes so much that I can't write subjects. Everyone has their own technique to write subjects. I write the scenes first, one after the other, and then I write the summary, and that's the subject. A very functional method, like going from Rome to Naples passing through Paris. Many great screenwriters are born journalists, some - not me - were actually great journalists. From the outside you might think that the distance is short, that writing scenes is the same to writing, tell stories with words. But it's not like that: writing scenes is telling stories through images (so, first of all, imagine), it's - as Suso Cecchi d'Amico says, "Writing with the eyes". I suppose most people get it by themselves, but for me it's been a sort of revelation, like the time I understood that De Gregori was playing some songs that were Bob Dylan's, and not the other way around."
