Prossimamente: Brian Solis @briansolis

Coming up soon: Brian Solis
In a few days we'll have the pleasure of interviewing Brian Solis, principal at Altimeter Group, a research-based advisory firm.
Solis is globally recognized as one of the most prominent thought leaders and published authors in new media. A digital analyst, sociologist, and futurist, Solis has studied and influenced the effects of emerging media on business, marketing, publishing, and culture.
At Altimeter, Brian works with businesses on new media strategies and frameworks to build bridges between companies and customers, employees, and other important stakeholders. Additionally, he specializes in change management to help businesses (and the leadership team) introduce new media resources, systems and processes, and management layers to effectively embrace and excel around the connected customer. As a result, CRM Magazine named Brian as an influential leader of 2010.
Prior to joining Altimeter, Solis was principle of FutureWorks, founding a creative agency and business consultancy for new media in 1999. Through FW, Solis led interactive and social programs for Fortune 500 companies, notable celebrities, and Web 2.0 startups.
His blog, BrianSolis.com is among the world’s leading business and marketing online resources, ranking among the top 1% of all blogs tracked by Technorati. He is also ranked as one of the leading voices in the AdAge Power 150 index of worldwide marketing bloggers. He has also contributed to FastCompany, BusinessWeek, AdAge, Harvard Business Review, and Mashable.
As a sought-after speaker, Solis actively shares his vision and experiences through keynotes and presentations at conferences and events worldwide to help organizations understand and embrace the dynamics defining the rise of social consumerism, social business, and its impact on markets, behavior and culture.
Brian Solis has been actively writing about new marketing and business since the mid 90s to document how the Web was redefining the communications industry — he coined PR 2.0 along the way before focusing his efforts on the greater impacts on the future of media, commerce, and culture. He was also among the original thought leaders working to organize and define the “Social Media” movement to establish a definitive media category.
His most recent book, End of Business as Usual, explores each layer of the complex consumer revolution that is changing the future of business, media, and culture. As consumers further connect with one another, a vast and efficient information network takes shape and begins to steer experiences, decisions, and markets. It is nothing short of disruptive.
He is also the author of books such as Engage!, Putting the Public back in Public Relations and Now is gone, and he has written the preface of many books, among which Social Media ROI and The Hidden Power of Your Customers, just to name a few.
We'll have the chance to speak about social media, social commerce, the way new media have changed the markets, marketing and business.
Of course, if you want to propose a question, simply fill in the form above!

Buona visione!

StartupID | Emil Abirascid of StartupBusiness
Our fourth interview for StartupID, Intervistato.com's section in collaboration with Indigeni Digitali, is with Emil Abirascid, founder of StartupBusiness.
StartupBusiness is a community, a reality that gathers the protagonists of the ecosystem of innovation becoming an enterprise: startups, investors, incubators, companies, universities and institutions.
Born in 2008 as a project presented at the Chamber of Commerce of Milan, that every year finds initiatives supporting the development of innovative companies, and has become a company by all means in 2010. [video]
At present it counts 2500 members and it is not only a place where you can exchange informations, resources, opportunities and experiences, but also a platform that allows third parties to offer services and opportunities. One of the main partners of StartupBusiness is Intesa San Paolo, recently some agreements have been made with Asso Lombarda, but there are also plans for other partnerships.
Moreover, through StartupBusiness startups can offer services at special conditions for the other members of the network. [video]
For whoever wants to open or is opening a startup, Emil has some advice: first of all sign up to StartupBusiness. Secondly it is necessary to have the idea, even though it is not enough by itself: you must have the competence to realize it, at least an idea of what will be your team and some management competences.
But the most important thing is to tell the idea, so that possible investors might become interested. In Emil's opinion, one of the most common mistakes is being afraid to tell the idea, because the best way to protect it is doing it. [video]
As for the financial part, in Emil's opinion it is necessary to talk about your idea, your business plan, the numbers and the market impact you prospect, so that you can propose it to business angels and venture capitalists.
StartupBusiness itself holds regular Business Plan Competitions, occasions in which startups are called to present their idea in front of an audience of investors. [video]
The StartupBusiness team is currently working to develop the technological components of the website, adding new sections that will make the informative and the networking possibilities even more complete.
There are several growth perspectives: on the one side various organizations, such as banks and companies are realizing that the innovative startups ecosystem has value, but some of them haven't yet developed the ability to approach this world by their own.
The other development path is the opening to the international market, especially the Mediterranean area, very rich in opportunities. [video]
The sign up request has to be approved, since the aim is the quality of the community, more than the number of members, and the type of startup of the SB galaxy isn't just related to web and ICT, but also nanotechnologies, biotechnologies, robotics, alternative energy, aerospace and new materials.
A constellation of innovative startups in very different fields that represent a great value and opportunity for the economy of the country. [video]
I invite everyone to view the full interview, much richer in detail and information than my brief synthesis.
Enjoy!
