#Comizidamore: allarme xenofobia, nonostante @LauraBoldrini

Il refrain è il solito: «prima gli italiani!» ed è il classico slogan xenofobo, dettato spesso da una acuta disperazione, rinfocolato dalle destre rozze e irresponsabili, che soffiano sul fuoco della crisi per acquisire consenso con estrema facilità. 

Uno slogan rivolto, in questi giorni, soprattutto a Rom e immigrati, bersagli mobili per ogni frustrazione della società. Due episodi mi hanno colpito, negli ultimi giorni: le schifose polemiche riguardanti la neo Presidentessa della Camera, Laura Boldrini, e il Sindaco di Milano, Giuliano Pisapia.

La prima è, incredibilmente, «accusata» di essersi occupata solo dei disperati sparsi in ogni zona dimenticata del mondo e non dei disagiati italiani (come se aiutare esseri umani con una origine diversa, fosse meno apprezzabile). Il secondo, Pisapia, è stato accusato da "Libero" di voler spendere 700mila euro per 20 prefabbricati destinate a famiglie di etnìa Rom, per il piano nomadi del Comune di Milano. Una balla colossale, ovviamente. Perché il piano del Comune prevede lo sblocco di fondi statali ed europei, destinati proprio all'integrazione delle etnìe nomadi nelle nostre città.

Eppure, quello slogan tanto efficace, dimostra di essere - come ogni slogan razzista - privo di fondamento. Perché se pensiamo alle mitiche case popolari (quelle poche abitabili e costruite fin qui, dopo un ventennio di rallentamento dell'edilizia pubblica), solo il 10% di esse, in media, è destinato a famiglie extracomunitarie. E i tanto vituperati Rom e Sinti? Beh, i primi sono composti da una popolazione molto giovane e l'80% di essi possiede la cittadinanza italiana. I secondi, dopo migrazioni di centinaia d'anni e migliaia di chilometri, vivono stabilmente nella nostra Penisola dalla metà del 1400. Dunque, possiamo affermare - senza possibilità di smentita - che Rom e Sinti sono italiani come e più dei vari fascistelli che affollano il web e le nostre città sempre più intolleranti e violente. E comunque, la nostra Costituzione è chiarissima in merito: lo Stato deve garantire eguali diritti ed opportunità a tutti i suoi cittadini, senza alcuna discriminazione. Ergo, i servizi sociali vanno erogati a chi più ne ha bisogno, italiano o straniero che sia.

Affermate queste pure e semplici verità, è bene dire che questa crisi economica sta falcidiando anche la nostra civiltà, mettendoci gli uni contro gli altri. Per un tozzo di pane, in preda alla disperazione, diventiamo belve feroci privi di ogni ragionevolezza. E allora il nemico non è più il grande evasore, il corruttore o il corrotto, le grandi banche e la finanza, ma l'immigrato, il Rom, un emarginato come e più di noi. Un soggetto semplice da bersagliare con la propria disperazione e la propria frustrazione. Ecco che a ragionare non è più il cervello, ma il basso ventre.

Come al solito, l'unica via d'uscita possibile è rappresentata dal ruolo della politica: serve alleviare certe tensioni cercando di dare soluzioni che aiutino tutti, senza favoritismi né discriminazioni di sorta. Perché bianco o nero, slavo o italiano, il sangue che scorre nelle nostre vene è sempre rosso, quello umano.

Discrimination and xenophobia in spite of Boldrini

The refrain is the usual one: "the Italians first!" and is the classical xenophobical slogan, often dictated by an acute despair, nurtured by the irresponsible, rough right wings, which blow on the fire of the crisis in order to acquire consensus with extreme ease. A slogan that is adressed, during these days, especially to Rom and immigrants, mobile targets for every frustration of the society. Two episodes have truly shaken me, during these last few days: the ugly discussions about the neo President of the Chamber, Laura Boldrini, and the mayor of Milan, Giuliano Pisapia.

The first is, incredibly, accused of dealing only with the desperate people around the world and not with the Italian people who have problems (as if helping human beings who have different origins is to be appreciated less). The second, Pisapia, has been accused by "Libero" of wanting to spend 700.000 euro for 20 homes destined to Rom families, for the nomade plan of the City of Milan. A colossal lie, obviously. Because the plan of the City requires the access to state and European funds, which are destined to the integration of nomade ethnicities in our cities.

And yet, this slogan that is so effective, proves to be - as every racist slogan - without fundament. Because if we think at the popular houses (the few ones that can be used and built until now, after twenty years of slowing down of public building), only 10% of them, on average, is destined to foreign families. And the Rom and Sinti?

The first want to reopen the game definitely, creating that political box that can mix the leftwing identity and the indispensable governmental vocation, which allows the political activity to be more than a mere act of testimony; the latter, at least the part that is more on the left, feel more and more the need to get rid of that Renzi connected left, which is growing more and more uncomfortable at an ideologic and strategic level.

Because, let's not hide it: this country is how it is because during the last few years the left wing has been absent. The left wing that was there and that is here now, has always been divided between the fake reformist and the elitary, confused and irrilevant one, the so called "extreme left wing". The birth of SEL has broken this pattern and during these last two years and a half we've seen a real change: in cities like Milan, Cagliari, Rieti, Genua and in regions like Puglia, SEL has been capable to overthrow the great PD and elect as heads of these cities and that great region of the South one of its own administrators.

As always, the only way out is represented by the role of politics: we need to lighten certain tensions trying to give solutions that help everyone, without favoritisms nor discriminations. Because either white or black, Italian or not, the blood flowing in our veins is always red, the human blood.

#Comizidamore: Donne italiane, tra #femminicidi e benaltrismo

Nelle ultime settimane il nostro Paese s'è colorato, almeno per qualche giorno, di rosa con la nomina di Laura Boldrini alla Presidenza della Camera. Una elezione storica se pensiamo che lei è solo la 4° Presidentessa donna della Camera.

Storica anche perché il nostro Paese, (anche) sul fronte femminile, ha gravi lacune. Dai diritti all'occupazione, alla stessa considerazione dell'essere donna, l'Italia non è un Paese europeo.

Si parte dalla violenza (più di 100 donne uccise all'anno dai propri partner, senza contare le migliaia che denunciano violenze verbali e fisiche di ogni genere) passando per la partecipazione delle donne alla vita pubblica (tra i più bassi dell'area OCSE) e finendo all'occupazione (solo meno della metà lavora, con dati ancora più pesanti nel Meridione). Dati che angosciano. Che dovrebbero far riflettere tutti. Invece no, assistiamo solo a spot propagandistici di ogni genere. Come sulla lotta al femminicidio, dove si parla di generici ed irritanti «leggi contro il femminicidio». Come se il maschilismo, il machismo, l'ignoranza possano essere combattuti o cancellati a colpi di legge e non con efficaci campagne culturali che partano dalle istituzioni, dai media passando per scuola e famiglia.

Mi chiedo e vi chiedo: come possiamo pensare di debellare questa rozza ignoranza se persino il Capo dello Stato, nello scegliere 10 personalità in grado di rendere meno complicata la crisi istituzionale, non trova neanche una donna da inserire in quella lista? È mai possibile che questo Paese (che, ricordo, vede oltre la metà della popolazione di sesso femminile) non esprima figure femminili in grado di dare risposte serie e soddisfacenti alla crisi del Paese? No, non ci credo. Non è possibile. E fa rabbia leggere e sentire commenti benaltristi del tipo «guardiamo alle competenze, non al sesso»: con questa solita scusa, a pagare è sempre e solo la donna, in questo Paese.

La verità è che questo benaltrismo è la maschera più insolente del maschilismo del nuovo millennio. Ed è vero che in questo Paese, purtroppo, ci sono sempre più maschi e meno uomini. Maschi deboli, che tentano di sopraffare l'indiscussa sensibilità femminile (tranne fisiologici casi negativi) con la propria forza fisica.

Ed allora, e concludo, fino a quando la mentalità femminile non sarà riconosciuta al pari di quella maschile, questo Paese non vedrà mai la luce in fondo al tunnel. Perché l'Italia, checché se ne dica, è donna.

Italian women, between femminicide and benaltrism

During the last few weeks our country has been colored, at least for a few days, of pink, with the nomination of Laura Boldrini as President of the Chamber. A historical election if we think that she is only the 4th female President of the Chamber.

Historical also because our country, (also) on the femminine front, has some serious problems. From rights to employment, to the very consideration of the woman, Italy is not an European country.

It starts with the violence (more than 100 women killed every year by their partners, without even counting the thousands who file for verbal or physical violence of every kind), to the participation of women in the public life (among the lowest in the OCSE area) and finally with employment (only less than half works, with even more serious percentages in the South). Numbers that anguish. That should make us think. But no, we only assist to propaganda spots of every kind. Like on the femminicide fight, where they talk about generical and irritating "laws against femminicide". As if maschilism, machism, or ignorance could be fought or erased with laws, rather than with effective cultural campaigns that start with institutions, media, school, and family.

I ask myself and I ask you: how can we think to fight this rough ignorance if even the President, in choosing the 10 personalities capable of making less complicated this institutional crisis, couldn't find even one woman to put in the list? Is it possible that this country (which, I remind you, has more than a half of female population) couldn't express femminine figures capable of giving serious and satisfying answers to the crisis of the Country? I can't believe it. It's not possible. And it makes me angry to read certain benaltrist comments like "we look at competence, not gender". With this same old excuse, the woman is the only one to ever pay the price in this country.

The truth is that this benaltrism is the most insolent mask of the maschilism of the new millennium. And it is true that in this country, unfortunately, there are more and more males and les men. Weak males, who try to overcome the indiscussed femminine sensibility (except for physiological negative cases) with their physical force.

And then, and I finish, until the femminine mentality won't be recognized at the same level with the male one, this country will never see the light at the end of the tunnel. Because Italy, in spite of everything, is woman.

#Comizidamore: povera Patria, strangolata da povertà e analfabetismo di ritorno

Un'altra settimana pesante per questo Paese. Ma non voglio suonare il De Profundis già all'inizio di questo articolo. Vorrei concentrarmi soprattutto sull'uso spropositato di un linguaggio violento, denso di epiteti volgari, nella nostra vita pubblica recente.

Mi riferisco in particolare a Grillo e Battiato. Ma mentre il primo non mi soprende più, il secondo mi ha - lo ammetto - lasciato di sasso, quando ha usato un termine come «troie» per riferirsi ai parlamentari della precedente legislatura. Chiariamoci: nella scorsa legislatura abbiamo assistito a compravendite di parlamentari veramente squallide, degradanti ed umilianti per l'immagine del nostro Paese. Chi può negarlo? Ma da Battiato, uomo colto e dal ricchissimo vocabolario, non mi sarei mai aspettato toni così volgari. Perché penso si possa avere un giudizio negativo su un qualsiasi argomento, pur senza esprimerlo con l'insulto. Perché un giudizio negativo può essere ugualmente efficace e comprensibile usando un linguaggio consono e non per forza violento.

Ma perché in questo Paese si fa spesso ricorso al turpiloquio per esprimersi? E qui arriviamo al punto: in questo Paese solo il 20% della popolazione sa leggere e scrivere correttamente. L'80% ha difficoltà nell'esprimersi sia verbalmente che in maniera scritta. E allora, per farsi comprendere in maniera più chiara, efficace e diretta, ecco che le parolacce diventano d'uso comune anche nella vita pubblica. E qui tralascio la vicenda di Battiato che, per quanto io sia rimasto scosso da quanto successo, non mi va di drammatizzare ulteriormente.

E passiamo a Grillo e al suo enorme successo. Come potrei parlarvi del successo di Berlusconi. Cos'è che accomuna questi due personaggi? La semplicità del linguaggio, l'essere incredibilmente diretti verso il basso ventre, gli istinti più sensibili degli italiani. Perché un popolo con una bassa scolarizzazione è più semplice da convincere attraverso ragionamenti iper-semplificati e pieni zeppi di improperi.

Quindi, è ben semplice intuire che sfidare personaggi del genere sui contenuti è difficile. Perché se al "vaffanculo" e al "meno tasse per tutti" opponi argomenti tipo "giustizia sociale" e "pari diritti per tutti", hai già perso in partenza. Perché la maggioranza del popolo sarà sicuramente più attratta da chi si esprime più "terra terra". E poi, lo sappiamo: gli italiani sono un popolo particolare. Non amano assumersi le proprie responsabilità. E dunque, se arriva qualcuno a sollevarli dalle stesse addossandole al bersaglio di turno (dalla "Ka$ta" ai "giudici comunisti") ecco arrivare il plebiscito nelle urne.

E nessuno potrà mai convincermi che questo Paese sia stato ridotto così esclusivamente dalla sua classe politica: la classe dirigente di questo Paese è una diretta espressione del popolo, nel bene e nel male. Ma questa è un'altra storia.

Insomma, l'insulto è la negazione del ragionamento e del pensiero. Ed è un insulto vero ai Padri e alle Madri di questa Patria, che ha visto personaggi come Leonardo, Dante, Boccaccio, Leopardi, Manzoni e - per tornare a tempi più recenti - a Pasolini e Rita Levi Montalcini (per citarne alcuni) dare lustro a questo Paese nel mondo.

Vedete, sono convintissimo che le riforme economiche servano e siano assolutamente urgenti per mantenere quel minimo di dignità rimasta qui, nel presente. Ma per poter guardare con speranza, con fondata fiducia al futuro e per evitare di ritrovarci di nuovo in questa situazione con guitti capo-popolo a decidere le sorti del nostro Paese, servono investimenti pesanti in istruzione e cultura per ridurre sensibilmente la quota di quell'80% di italiani che ad un ragionamento anche semplice preferiscono un ancora più semplice, auto-assolutorio e liberatorio "vaffanculo".

Poor country, strangled by poverty and analphabetism

Another tough week for this country. But I don't want to play the De Profundis right at the beginning of this post. I'd like to concentrate on the unappropriate use of a violent language, filled with vulgar names, in our recent public life.

I'm talking in particular about Grillo and Battiato. But while the first one doesn't surprise me anymore, the second has - I admit it - left me speechless, when he used a word as "whores" to refer to the members of Parliament in the previous legislation. Let's make things clear: in our last legislation we've seen buying and selling of parliamentaries that were truly low, deggrading and humiliating for the image of our country. Who can deny it? But from Battiato, a man of culture and with an extremely rich vocabulary, I would have never expected so vulgar tones. Because I think you can have a negative opinion on any topic, and not express it with an insult. Because a negative opinion can be just as effective and understandable by using an appropriate, non violent language.

But why is it that in this country so often people use bad language to express themselves? And here is the point: in this country only 20% of the population can read and write correctly. The other 80% have difficulties in expressing themselves both verbally and in written form. So in order to be comprehended in a clearer, more effective and direct form, the cursing words become a common use in public life as well. And here I will leave the story of Battiato which, although has shocked me quite a bit, I don't want to talk about any further.

And here we go on to Grillo and his huge success. Just how I could talk to you about the success of Berlusconi. What is it that these two people have in common? The simplicity of language, being incredibly direct with the gut, the most sensitive instincts of Italians. Because a people with a low degree of scholarization is easier to convince with hyper-simplified reasoning and a lot of cuss words.

So, it is quite simple to understand that challenging such people on the level of content is difficult. Because if you answer to "fuck yourself" and "less taxes for everybody" with argumetns such as "social justice" and "equal rights for everyone", you've already lost. Because the majority of the people will be definitely more attracted by those who express themselves in a simple manner. And because, we all know it: Italians are a particular people. They don't like to take responsibility. So, if someone arrives and takes those away from them, giving them to the enemy of the moment (from the caste to the "communist judges") there you have a plebiscite at the voting.

And nobody will ever be able to convince my that this country has been reduced like this exclusively by its political class: the political class of this country is a direct expression of its people, in good and in bad. But that's another story.

So to sum it up, the insult is the negation of reasoning and thought. And it is a true insult to the Fathers and Mothers of this country, which has seen people like Leonardo, Dante, Boccaccio, Leopardi, Manzoni and - to talk about more recent times - Pasolini and Rita Levi Montalcini (just to name a few) give shine and honor to this country in the world.

You see, I am totally convinced that economical reforms are necessary and are absolutely urgent in order to maintain that minimum of dignity we still have now, in the present. But in order to look with hope, and justified faith in the future and avoid finding ourselves again in this situation with leading clowns who decide the future of this country, we need strong investments in instruction and culture in order to largely reduce the quote of those 80% of Italians who, to an even very simple reasoning, prefer an even simpler, liberating "fuck you".

#Comizidamore: Laura Boldrini e Piero Grasso, quanto è splendida questa Italia!

Io, confesso, vedevo nero. Già me l'immaginavo questa maledetta giornata di sabato: i soliti nomi vecchi e sempre onnipresenti; accordi sottobanco, polemiche, attacchi, divisioni...insomma, ero pronto all'ennesimo bagno di sangue.

Invece no. Invece è accaduto il miracolo: la buona politica ha preso il sopravvento in questo sciagurato Paese. Almeno una volta. Almeno oggi ! (ieri ndr). Già immaginavo le urla dei grillini che sbraitavano contro la "Kasta" indegna che si autoconserva; i berlusconiani esultanti per la fine vicina della appena natia legislatura; I quotidiani (ad eccezione di qualcuno) prospettare disastri immani e i mille errori/difetti del centrosinistra. Invece no: Laura Boldrini e Piero Grasso. La prima, Presidente della Camera; il secondo, Presidente del Senato. Ed ecco che tutto si capovolge con i berlusconiani isolati a schiumare rabbia con i leghisti e i grillini disorientati, divisi e - addirittura - lacrimanti nelle stanze del Senato in preda al panico delle responsabilità da assumersi sul voto a Schifani o Grasso.

Che sensazione bellissima guardare Laura commuovere la Camera e pensare a lei quando combatteva le bombe e la povertà in Kosovo, Angola, Afghanistan..e che sollievo vedere Piero Grasso spuntarla su Schifani, un berlusconiano con tutti gli annessi e i connessi riguardanti un concetto di (il)legalità distante anni luce anche da quello delle destre europee. E poi, diciamoci la verità, chi se lo aspettava?!? Io, no di certo.

Quello che emerge con forza da questo fine settimana politico è la chiara e netta vittoria del duo Bersani-Vendola che, con una mossa imprevedibile, hanno piazzato due ottime figure alla seconda e terza carica dello Stato, isolato Berlusconi e disorientato i grillini, dimostrando loro che i valori dell'onestà non sono una esclusiva del M5S.

Ma oltre ai meriti del centrosinistra, che ha avuto il coraggio di cambiare, c'è da sottolineare che - dopo tempo - questo Paese ritorna a respirare aria pulita quando parla di politica. Perché l'aver eletto due rappresentanti così forti e rispettabili è un vanto ed un merito per tutta la classe politica, aldilà degli schieramenti. Che finalmente dà una immagine di sé, all'esterno, migliore di come lo sia stata fino ad adesso. Non so voi, ma dopo tempo mi sono sentito profondamente orgoglioso di essere italiano.

Ora verranno giorni più difficili e duri. E non sappiamo se potremo godere di nuovo di questo clima politico così gradevole. Non ci resta che sperare e respirare a pieni polmoni questa anticipazione di primavera politica tanto agognata. Almeno finché dura.

Laura Boldrini and Piero Grasso, how wonderful this country is!

I confess, I wasn't optimistical about this. I already imagined this terrible Saturday: the usual old names and always there. Underground agreements, controversies, attacks, divisions... so I was ready for a bloodbath.

But no. The miracle happened: the good politics has taken over in this wretched country. At least once. At least today! (well, yesterday). I already imagined the shouts of the Grillo fans who shouted against the unworthy "caste" that tries to keep itself; the exultant Berlusconians for the nearby end of the newborn legislature; the newspapers (except someone) prospecting huge disasters and the thousand errors/defects of the centerleft wing. And yet no: Laura Boldrini and Piero Grasso. The first, President of the Chamber; the second, President of the Senate. And there you see everything turning upside down with the isolated Berlusconian furious with the Lega Nord members and the disoriented M5S members, divided and in tears in the chambers of the Senate, panicked because of the responsibility to take on the vote between Schifani and Grasso.

What a great feeling to see Laura touch the Chamber and think about her when she fought bomb and poverty in Kosovo, Angola, Afghanistan... and what a relief to see Piero Grasso win on Schifano, a Berlusconian with all the implications regarding a concept of (il)legality light years away even from the European right wings. And let's be honest: who would have expected it? I surely didn't.

What really emerges strongly from this political weekend is a clear and net victory of the duo Bersani - Vendola, who - with an unpredictable move - have placed two great figures as the second and third charge of the State, have isolated Berlusconi and disoriented the M5S members, proving that the values of honesty aren't exclusive to the 5 Star Movement.

But beyond the merits of the centerleft wing, which has had the courage to change, we should also stress that - after a long time - this country is breathing clean air again when talking about politics. Because choosing two representatives that are so strong and respectable is a pride and a merit for the entire political class, and goes beyond parties. It finally shows an image of itself, to the outside, better than what it has been until now. I don't know about you, but after a long time, I felt truly and deeply proud of being an Italian.

Now the most difficult and hard days are coming. And we don't know whether we'll be able to enjoy this extremely pleasant political climate again. We can only hope and breath in this anticipation of political spring that we've been waiting for so long. At least until it lasts.
