Prossimamente: Amedeo Balbi @amedeo_balbi

Coming up soon: Amedeo Balbi

Tomorrow we'll have the pleasure of interviewing Amedeo Balbi, astrophysicist and researcher at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

Amedeo deals mainly with problems at the interface between fundamental physics and cosmology, among which the study of the primordial universe and the study of the nature of matter and dark energy.

He has published more than 70 scientific articles on international scientific magazines, and dozens of acts of conferences and contributions to books.

He has worked at the University of California at Berkeley with Nobel Prize George Smoot, participating at the MAXIMA experiment, and afterwards he has done research in many international institutes, among which the Chicago Fermilab, the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation of the University of Portsmouth and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of Pasadena.
He currently collaborates at the ESA spatial mission Planck and is member of the International Astronomical Union and of the Foundational Questions Institute (FQXi).

During the last few years, along with the activities of research and teaching, he started to deal with scientific disclosure through books, articles, public conferences and radio and tv participations.
In 2006 he founded he is the author of Keplero.org, one of the most popular Italian scientific blogs.
He has been the "reference astrophysicist" in the radio show Condor on Radio2, and now he continues the experience on Radio Deejay with Matteo Curti and the Trio Medusa.

He writes for the Post since it was founded and he collaborates with Saturno, cultural insert of Il Fatto Quotidiano.
In 2007 he published the book "The music of the Big Bang" (Springer), translated in English in 2008, and in 2010 he published "The second star to the right" (De Agostini). His last book is "The darkness beyond the stars" (Codice).

We'll have the chance to talk about scientific research, the problem of financing, the Italian and American situation confronted and much more.

Of course, if you want to propose a question, simply fill in the form above!
