Nelle ultime uscite Marchionne ha definito Renzi un brutto emulo di Obama che gioca a fare l'americano, ma peggio ha definito Firenze una povera piccola città. Forse l'Ad FIAT non conosce la storia della città, ma soprattutto non si rende conto di essere lui quello che gioca a fare l'americano.
Eppure Marchionne dovrebbe sapere che Firenze, quella piccola povera città, fu a suo tempo Capitale dell'Italia dopo Torino in quel primo tentativo di unificazione che prese il nome di Regno d'Italia. Senza contare il ruolo artistico culturale ed economico che ebbe sia nel Medioevo che in seguito sotto la guida medicea. Una piccola città, ma culla di quello che fu il rinascimento.
Probabilmente Renzi gioca a fare l'Obamino, ma se c'è uno che l'Americano lo fa davvero con tutti gli stereotipi del caso, compreso guardare l'intero mondo dall'alto in basso allora quello certo è Marchionne. L' Ad di una piccola povera azienda di auto che forse era grande un tempo ma che oggi ingarbugliata su se stessa non trova vie d'uscita se non quelle di una grande fuga verso l'estero, senza troppo preoccuparsi di quel che nei decenni da questo paese e dai suoi abitanti ha preso e di quello che forse dovrebbe sforzarsi di restituire, se non altro per gentile cortesia.

Marchionne, Renzi and the small poor city of Florence
Lately Marchionne has defined Renzi a nasty imitation of Obama who plays the American part, but even worse, he defined Florence as a tiny city. Perhaps Fiat's CEO doesn't know the history of the city, but most of all he doesn't realize that he's the one playing the American.
In short, Marchionne told Renzi, in reply to his statements on Repubblica, that he is an ugly copy of Obama. One who plays at being American. Strange. I thought that Marchionne liked Obama and America, given his recent stories that, were it not for that sweater he always wears, he could even be mistaken for someone from Kansas City. Of course, it's not for the mayor of the tiny city that I'm mad, but for the inhabitans of that city and the history it represents that I am angry, because there are so many ways to say things. Perhaps FIAT's CEO is now used to the big American metropolitan cities and Dante's city now looks like a small, dark, corner to him.
And yet Marchionne should know that Florence, that tiny little city, has been the Capital of Italy after Turin, in that attempt at uniting the country that took the name of Reign of Italy. Without even considering the artistical, cultural and economical contribution that it had during the Middle Ages, and afterwards under the Medici family. A small city, but the craddle of Renaissance.
So one of the places in this country, where even before it become what it is now, Italians gave their best. So maybe the CEO of a small tiny auto company should better read the history of that small tiny city and perhaps take example from it before it runs to risk of transforming other urban realities in small tiny cities inhabited by poor people.
Probably Renzi is now playing the mini-Obama, but if there's one person who plays the real deal with all the stereotypes, included looking at the world from above, then that is certainly Marchionne. The CEO of a small auto company that perhaps was great once, but that now is so wrapped around itself that it can't find the exit, except for the great escape abroad, without caring about what it took from this country and its people during these last few decades and of what it should have given back, even only for kind courtesy.
